Hello hex fans i have been watching the first seasen of hex and few things the confused me: 1. in the third episode there is that little dead girl that hunted Cassie. that can be seen in the first episode tied from a tree in Cassie's dreams. now. who is that girl? i know Rachel sacrificed her maid. and then she has been died for using the witchcraft, but how the girl connected it isn't clear. also in the third episode Thelma founds out that that girl was locked in the same room azazeal sacrificed her and drew all those things on the wall. and then azazeal said to Cassie that history seems to return. 2. second thing was the scene of all the sacrificing Thelma by azazeal, now it seems it was a dream, but Thelma indeed was found dead in the lake apparently by suicide, so she did has been sacrificed willingly. but how does the suicide connects to the stabbing? well thats it, thanks BTW, new to this forum, seems like a great forum

Greetings vlad. It's been a while since I last watched my DVDs of Hex's first season, so my memories may be a little hazy, but I believe these are the answers to your questions (and if I'm mistaken, I'm sure another forum member can provide the correct info);
1. The little girl whom Cassie sees in visions is Rachel's daughter, Esther McBain. She was seduced by Azazeal and subsequently killed by the local villagers for being a witch. Some Hex fans believe that in addition to Esther, Cassie also briefly glimpses the maid whom Rachel sacrificed, but to be honest I can't remember.
2. Azazeal did indeed stab Thelma. At the moment of her death, Thelma was selflessly trying to save Cassie, so her actions counted as 'a willing sacrifice', at least according to Azazeal. As you have summarised, the next day Cassie awoke in her room, and Thelma's body turned up in the lake, seemingly drowned, without any stab wound or signs of violence, an apparent suicide. It's never explained, but as Azazeal is a creature of immense power, it's safe to assume that he used his abilities to erase the wound, then simply dumped Thelma's corpse in the lake. Presumably he did this to cover his tracks and keep Cassie disorientated - did it really happen, or did she imagine it? However, Azazeal apparently didn't predict that Thelma would be one of the few who lingers on Earth as a ghost after death, and her presence is proof to Cassie that the events of that night were real.

Welcome to the board vlad. Some Hex fans believe that in addition to Esther, Cassie also briefly glimpses the maid whom Rachel sacrificed, but to be honest I can't remember. I always assumed the bald, bloodstained woman who appears in Cassie's dream and later in the bathroom mirror was the maid. Been a while since I watched those episodes though.

Actress Charity Wakefield's big break was being cast as Marianne Dashwood in the BBC's 2008 mini-series of Sense & Sensibility. She's subsequently been a regular cast-member in Casualty 1907 and Casualty 1909, played Rapunzel (reimagined as a spoilt tennis prodigy) in the BBC1 series Fairy Tales, and guest-starred in 'The Oblong Murders' episode of the current series of Midsomer Murders. However, according to her profile page on the Internet Movie Database, back in 2004 Charity played a character called 'Lucy' in a first season episode of Hex. I currently don't have time to dust off and re-watch my first season boxset, so can anyone confirm this? I'm guessing it was a brief, blink-and-you'll-miss-it role as a Medenham student.

I think 'Lucy' is the character Cassie rescues from some randomly possessed nightclub hottie in the first few scenes of 1.3/Life Goes On. She's only in a couple of shots if I remember rightly and has no lines (apart from screaming). This is the only screencap I can find that shows her face on: www.caffeine-headache.com/hex/displayimage.php?album=2&pid=7686#top_display_media

Looking at that screencap, I'd say that's definitely Ms Wakefield. Thanks orokiah - as usual, you've gone above and beyond.

She's subsequently been a regular cast-member in Casualty 1907 and Casualty 1909. However, back in 2004 Charity played a character called 'Lucy' in a first season episode of Hex. The Arrow in the Head website reports that former Hex bit-parter Charity Wakefield is returning to horror TV, having bagged a key role in NBC's upcoming Munsters revival Mockingbird Lane; A couple weeks ago we heard Eddie Izzard had signed up to portray Grandpa in Mockingbird Lane, the spectacular Munsters revision Bryan Singer will direct the pilot for. Now, in the role of Marilyn, English ingénue Charity Wakefield has been cast in the show. As the only 'normal' Munster, she'll play the beautiful niece of Lily (yet to be cast).
Official character description: Saved from being devoured by her own mother as an infant, Marilyn lives with the Munsters but has not inherited any of their special attributes. A college student who believes in good manners and congeniality toward the new neighbors, she regularly clashes with Grandpa (Izzard), but she gets along well with Aunt Lily and Uncle Herman, as well as with her young cousin Eddie.
Synopsis for the pilot, scripted by Bryan Fuller: The madness begins when a baby bear attacks a scouting trip, only it turns out that this 'bear' is actually Eddie transformed into a werewolf. Eddie is unaware of his metamorphosis and it forces the family to move in order to protect the family secret. The coming of age story gets weirder as he fights against his family when he learns of a shocker: they're a family of flesh-eaters!
Wakefield has a trio of films in post-production, and can be seen in The Raven next month. She's also appeared in UK series Sense & Sensibility, Casualty 1907 and Casualty 1909. Welcome to the states, Charity!Source

Former Hex bit-parter Charity Wakefield is returning to horror TV, having bagged a key role in NBC's upcoming Munsters revival Mockingbird Lane. It seems that Mockingbird Lane isn't dead after all; When the US TV 2012/2013 season pick-ups were announced and there was no news about Mockingbird Lane, NBC’s proposed remake of ’60s sitcom The Munsters – masterminded by the two Bryans (Singer and Fuller) and starring Eddie Izzard as a vampire – we were a bit worried the network had decided to pass on it. But no. Casting is still underway and the latest news is that the pilot has found its Eddie Munster. Mason Cook (Spy Kids in 4D) has landed the role of Lily and Herman Munsters’s only child, an earnest boy scout and budding werewolf. Eddie Izzard will be playing Grandpa and Charity Wakefield is Marilyn, Lily’s niece, the beautiful “normal” member of the family (not that they regard her as normal). The show is being reinvented as a “visually spectacular” one hour comedy-drama. Well, it is from the guy who gave us Pushing Daisies, after all…Source (the SFX website).

Some intriguing news regarding showrunner Bryan Fuller's plans for Mockingbird Lane, courtesy of the Arrow in the Head website; The Hollywood Reporter's Live Feed blog recently had a chance to chat with Mockingbird Lane showrunner Bryan Fuller about the upcoming series and boy did Fuller spill a lot! Not only did he spill on character details and the long process to get Mockingbird Lane on the right track, but he touches on little gems like the family's pet monster 'Spot' and the addition of classic Universal Monsters into the series as well! Here's a couple snippets from the interview;
"The Munsters actually do what monsters do: they eat people and they have to live with the ramifications of being monstrous. It's like grounding it in a reality because the half-hour was a sitcom, we saw the monsters: they were monsters on the outside and weren't monsters on the inside. For us, they're monsters outside and inside, and we get to double our story. So any story you can tell on Parenthood and True Blood, we can tell. To have Eddie Munster be the starting point for the family -- because in the past, when Eddie was born human, they stopped living like monsters because they didn't want to damage Eddie. You get to this interesting thing with Lily, who's been hiding who she is for the last 11 years and now has to accept who she is after she's denied it for so long. It's those types of emotional stories -- yet they're going out and eating people at the same time."
"Once Upon a Time has fairy tales. We have Universal monsters, which for me are the fairy tales of my youth. That's where I grew up, loving The Munsters, The Wolfman, Frankenstein, Dracula, the Metaluna monster from This Island Earth and the Mole People. I would love to rope in all of those characters from those stories, as well as get the Cat People and get those types of things. But we can't just do Monster of the Week; they have to have a reason for being in the story -- an emotional capacity -- for us to interact with their characters."
I guess Fuller and company weren't kidding when they said the tone for this one would be dark! Colour me intrigued... Starring Portia de Rossi, Jerry O'Connell, Eddie Izzard, Mason Cook, Charity Wakefield, Cheyenne Jackson and Beth Grant, there's no telling when exactly Mockingbird Lane will be hitting the small screen but I'm sure that announcement will be on it's way soon.SourceHmm. I think it's promising that Fuller mentions some of the lesser-known Universal monsters, such as the Metaluna mutant and the Mole People. Personally, I'd like to see two of the studio's even-more obscure creatures: Paula Dupree and The Creeper.

Former Hex bit-parter Charity Wakefield is returning to horror TV, having bagged a key role in NBC's upcoming Munsters revival Mockingbird Lane. Over the last couple of weeks there have been unconfirmed reports on numerous news-sites that NBC have decided not to commission Mockingbird Lane as a series, causing showrunner Bryan Fuller to respond by stating on Twitter that a decision regarding the show's future had not yet been made ( Mockingbird Lane seems to be a genuine labour of love for Fuller, who's spent two years developing & working on the project). NBC have now announced that the pilot episode will be screened as ' a one-off special' on Friday 26th October. Whether this means that they're definitely not proceeding with the series, or are waiting to see the audience reaction to the pilot before making a final decision, remains to be seen. Link to the trailer for the pilot episode.

There have been unconfirmed reports on numerous news-sites that NBC have decided not to commission Mockingbird Lane as a series, causing showrunner Bryan Fuller to respond by stating on Twitter that a decision regarding the show's future had not yet been made. Official confirmation that Mockingbird Lane is dead; It’s officially over for NBC’s Munsters reboot Mockingbird Lane. The project’s creator/executive producer Bryan Fuller made the announcement earlier today on Twitter. “I tweet with a heavy heart,” he wrote. “NBC not moving forward with #MockingbirdLane. From producers and cast, thank you all for enthusiasm and support.” This marks the end of Mockingbird Lane‘s two-year journey. The project was originally developed by NBC’s previous regime during the 2010-11 cycle. Fuller’s script was one of very few Bob Greenblatt kept in play when he took over the network in January 2011. It was redeveloped and, in November 2011, it was ordered to pilot, which was subsequently rolled to June because of difficulties with casting. The pilot landed Bryan Singer as director and eventually assembled a cast led by Jerry O’Connell as family patriarch Herman Munster, Portia de Rossi as his wife Lily, and Eddie Izzard as Grandpa. The pilot was lauded for its visual style but NBC brass felt the high-concept premise — a show about a family of “monsters” — didn’t quite work. The network unofficially passed on the pilot at the end of September but opted to air it as a Halloween special, in part to offset its high cost, said to be pushing $10 million. The special did a so-so 5.4 million total viewers and a 1.5 rating among adults 18-49 in the Friday 8 PM slot, giving Fuller and the project’s fans a glimmer of hope that NBC may pick it up to series. Multiple additional scripts had been written, and there was speculation that the project may be reworked to focus on Grandpa and cousin Marilyn (Charity Wakefield). But I hear among top NBC brass the decision not to go forward with Mockingbird Lane had already been made, and it has now become official. Source

Charity Wakefield is currently starring as lead character Catherine Donohue in These Shining Lives, the first production to be staged at London's newest theatre, The Park Theatre. The play is based on a notorious real-life health scandal that took place in Chicago in the 1920s, when dozens of young female employees at the Radium Dial watch factory received fatal doses of radium poisoning. Terminally ill, Donohue fought Radium Dial in a legal action that lasted seven years. Eventually winning her case, she died a few days later, aged just 35. These Shining Lives is playing until 9th June 2013.
