Remiel is accredited with two tasks. First, he is the angel responsible for true divine visions, and is said to be the angel to give such a vision to Baruch before destroying Baruch's enemies, the armies of Sennacherib. Beyond that, he is also the guide for the souls of the faithful, leading them into Heaven after Michael weighs them at the last trump. Although not mentioned specifically as such, such a role would lead to the assumption that Remiel is a power He is called Jeremiel (explains...Jez!) or Uriel in various translations of IV Esdras, and is described as "one of the holy angels whom God has set over those who rise" from the dead.
He is said to have been the archangel responsible for the destruction of the armies of Sennacherib, as well as being the bearer of the instructions of the seven archangels. His name is Hebrew for "Mercy of God."Sources:

Then again he had the power over the dead when he was an angel, he may not necessarily have it now he has fallen. The writer's may not even pick up on it Just gotta wait and see I guess

I beleive Ella referred to him as "Ramiel the deceiver" tonight. Interesting, certainly fitted in with his role in the series.

Remiel isn't a Nephilim though, in Hex he's a slave to them, so perhaps he doesn't really want to be doing all this, maybe Azazeal is just having control over him?

yeah I was going to say, just because they say slave to the nephs it doesn't necessarily mean that he's unwilling.

He is called Jeremiel (explains...Jez!) or Uriel in various translations of IV Esdras, and is described as "one of the holy angels whom God has set over those who rise" from the dead.Interesting as www.absoluteastronomy.com/encyclopedia/u/ur/uriel_(archangel).htm says that Uriel is one of the Angels who pleaded for divine assistance to be given the Humanity against the Nephilim. Also , www.heart7.net/spirit/ar.html gives three variant spellings of Ramiel, Ramael and Remiel and notes that the name was associated to both a "good" and a "bad" (fallen) angel.
