"Whoever you are, I am what waits for you. And I am WAR ITSELF!" (A wonderful Ella Dee-style pronouncement from Miss Quill) Looking forward to Class (I'm hoping that it's school setting will make it the Whoian equivalent of Hex), but trying not to set my expectations too high, as the last time I was eagerly anticipating a Who spin-off, the result was Torchwood, which despite a handful of good episodes was a crushing disappointment and a missed opportunity of massive proportions. Also, the last time the Beeb attempted a teenage/early twenties-themed spin-off from a major mainstream success was the utterly woeful Spooks: Code 9, which also aired on BBC Three and completely tanked in the ratings (I gave up on it after the opening double bill). Subsequently everyone involved - the BBC, production company Kudos, and fans of the parent show - have done their best to forget it ever existed.

1.1 For Tonight We Might Die: Series opener. Thrilling teaser and initially I thought it was a flashforward only to be proven otherwise. Interesting Charlie and Miss Quill are both aliens from the same planet. Interestingly enough the actors who played Charlie and Miss Quill respectively Greg Austin and Katherine Kelly were both regulars on Mr Selfridge prior to Class. It is a prom that April certainly would not forget. What a tragedy about Ram’s date. Pretty good cameo by Peter Capaldi as the Doctor as it is explained that he got Charlie and Miss Quill to Earth and him making their arrangements at Coal Hill. Even though the cameo was late and brief, the Doctor sure provided a good launch for Class which is off to a very good start with this opening episode.

1.2 The Coach With The Dragon Tattoo: The title is obviously a play on The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. The said dragon sure looked terrifying. Funny the part with Miss Quill and what turned out to be a robot. Also funny when Tanya asked the coach whether he was really a teacher. I wonder if any students in the real world would dare to ask that same question to their coaches. Oh poor Mr Armitage. After appearing in three Doctor Who episodes and popping up in Class in the opening episode For Tonight We Might Die he gets killed off here.
