The LA Times, in an interview with Russell T. Davies, is reporting that The Sarah Jane Adventures is going to be shown on the Sci Fi Channel in the US from April: What's striking about the "Doctor Who" franchise is the wide age range it not only speaks to but also seeks out. When Davies embarked on "The Sarah Jane Adventures," about an investigator and her 14-and-younger companions, he sought to tell younger stories without neutering them. There's death and despair, he said, but less violence and more fun. Also, Davies added, with a laugh, "more hugs." (It will be broadcast on the Sci Fi Channel beginning in April.)

Eye of the Gorgon Part 2: Finally finished the concluding episode of Eye of the Gorgon a few days ago.
Overall an adequate conclusion to the main storyline and quite a nice way that closure (sort of) was given for Mrs Bea Stanley-Nelson.

Warriors of Kudlak Part 1: Overall this has been a good beginning to the story which I think would have been better without Luke's attempt at humour and the joke about Lance Corporal was just embarassing.
The cliffhanger was great.

Whatever Happened to Sarah Jane Part 1: This is brilliant. A brilliant script from Gareth Roberts and direction from Graeme Harper. Jane Asher finally makes an appearance in the televised Whoniverse as she previously appeared in the 1994 radio production of Whatever Happened to Susan Foreman. Funny how both stories involving Jane Asher both have titles starting with the words "What Happened to" followed by the name of a person. Although I saw it briefly in the trailer for this, it still caught me by surprise the appearance of a returning monster that appears here. Excellent cliffhanger with the person that Maria meets at the end.

Whatever Happened to Sarah Jane? Part 2: Extremely good conclusion to the story especially with the dialogue between Sarah and Andrea.
Felt a tear in my eye seeing Andrea's agony on the decisions she has to make.

The Lost Boy Part 1: Did not see it coming the surprises that came from this episode the first episode of the two parter that ends the first season.
It looks like it is shaping up to be quite an end to the first season with this story's concluding episode.

Having recently interviewed Sarah-Jane Adventures producer Nikki Smith, SFX have placed a list of officially confirmed spoilers for the 2nd season of the show on their website. Some of them have me looking forward to the show's return more than ever, while one I found quite disappointing. Here's a link - but remember, these are spoilers. If you don't want to know what's coming in the 2nd season, don't click; www.sfx.co.uk/page/sfx?entry=sarah_jane_returns

Link below to a trailer that's going to be shown in cinemas to promote the second season. It mostly consists of Daniel Anthony (who plays Clyde) talking directly to the camera in character, but if you're trying to avoid any spoilers, be advised that it includes footage of some of the season's villains. www.bbc.co.uk/sja/

Episode #2.1: The Last Sontaran (Part One)
I recorded this episode when it was broadcast on Monday, but didn't get around to watching it until last night. While it enables the second series to get off to a solid start, this instalment doesn't quite fire on all cylinders. The weighty subplot about Alan (Maria's dad) getting a job offer in America puts the narrative slightly off-balance, and some of the dialogue (especially between Luke and Clyde when they're off searching in the woods) feels un-natural.
But on the plus side, there are some welcome continuity references, not only to this year's New Who two-parter featuring the Sontarans (to which this story is a direct sequel - in effect, Sarah-Jane is cleaning up one of the Doctor's messes) but also Ms Smith's previous encounters with the potato-headed warmongers, in the Classic Who serials 'The Time Warriors' and 'The Sontaran Experiment'. There's a nice tip of the helmet to the Predator movies, and two top-notch guest stars in the form of Hex's own Ronan Vibert and Clare Thomas (Ingrid in Young Dracula) respectively playing an astronomer and his daughter. If I didn't know better, I'd think they were being introduced as replacements for Alan and Maria (Spoiler font: Sadly they're not. Although Maria and her dad are leaving, a new family moves into their house in the third episode, and the daughter takes Maria's place in Sarah-Jane's team of helpers). And the Sontaran's scheme to take control of the thousands of satellites orbiting Earth and have them rain down on the planet's nuclear reactors is worthy of a Bond film.
The trailer for the second episode looks suitably packed with incident, and includes a promising scene in which Alan meets Mr. Smith for the first time.
