"To totally go and deny it" Thelma muttered angrily as she opened her locker. She began taking out the books she'd need for the day, and was so absorbed in her mutterings that she didnt hear Cassie's footsteps towards her own locker.
Thelma looked up to meet her friends gaze. There was a broken, confused look in her eyes. She quickly bowed her head on the pretense of examining her english textbook. Thelma instantly felt all of her anger ebb away.
"Cassie.." She began, not sure of what to say. She reached out and tentatively stroked the blondes cheek. Cassie suddenly looked up, her mouth opening slightly.
"Sexual tension" Came Roxannes malicious voice, "Keep it for the bedroom, girls. We dont want your public displays of affection for all the world to see"

(OT: ok, i wanna add one entry! hehe)
Cassie gave Thelma a sharp look and as Thelma was staring angrily down the corridor at Roxanne and Gemma, Cassie rolled her eyes and walked off down the corridor to class.
"So what do you wanna do for...." Thelma turned around, but Cassie had gone.
"...lunch." she finished sadly. Closing her locker more gently than needed, Thelma trudged along the corridor without once lifting her head from the floor.

Media class passed without incident, as Thelma spent most of the time staring at cassie. When the blonde turned to look at Thelma, she quickly moved to face the window. Cassies words stung in her head as she laughed and joked with Roxanne and Gemma - "C'mon - Leon has more chance with me than Thelma..." That hurt. That hurt a lot.
Cassie, however, was bewildered at why Thelma was being so stand-offish with her. As far as she knew, nothing had happened between them; it had just been a very good dream. Or had it? Now Cassie was not so sure of herself, but she needed to make sure that Gemma and Roxanne were none the wiser. "C'mon - Leon has more chance with me than Thelma..." Cassie joked, as Thelma looked away from her angrily.
The bell for the end of class stung in both girls' ears, and they went their seperate ways. Thelma tried to call Cassie back, but she just stormed off out into the grounds.
"Missing lunch, then?" Thelma said gently. She had followed Cassie to the spot where they sometimes sat when the weather was slightly better - days that Thelma clung to with fondness. She slid her arm carefully round Cassies waist, smiling. "Whats the matter with you, Cassie? It slike you want to... forget all of a sudden..." The wind whistled, and the leaves on the trees danced daintily above the pair. Thelma leaned forwards, and tried to kiss Cassie, but yet again she felt her being pushed back. They were completely alone, but Cassie felt as if everyone was watching them. "Forget what, exactly? Nothing happened..."
Thelma looked at the ground, upset. Cassie didn't want to acknowledge her feelings for her, that was clear. But why couldn't she just have told Thelma outright, and not mess with her head this way? Thelma looked up at Cassie again, who mouthed two words at Thelmas confused face - "Did it?"

A single tear ran down Thelmas cheek.
"You've been giving me the brush off all day, Cassie Hughes" Thelma said, beginning to circle her bewildered friend, "How can you? Just, turn it on and off like that. Does it make you feel good, messing with me like this? Well I tell you what, I for one am sick of it. Acting all sweet and playful when where alone, but as soon as theres other people in the picture you turn as bitchy as Roxanne..."
"I only say those things...I dont mean them" Cassie whispered, looking at anything but Thelma.
"What is your game, Cassie? Your trying to shut it all out, kid yourself that there isnt anything going on between us, when you know there is. You think if you ignore these feelings, push them to the back of your mind, forget them, even, it'll all go away" She stopped abruptly, right in front of Cassie, so there faces were only inches apart.
Cassie didnt reply, but gave a quiet sob. She finally looked up, finding herself again staring into Thelmas eyes. As if a spell was binding them together, the two girls heads got closer together, until there lips were a mere centimetre apart. Thelma chuckled to herself, before moving in and capturing Cassies lips with her own...

And so the two girls stood, kissing, for what seemed like an eternity. Then, in a move which shocked Thelma, who thought she was being given the brush off again, Cassie pulled away. "It wasn't a dream, was it?" Thelma knew exactly what her friend was reffering to. Moving once again towards Cassies face, she said softly, "no."
It was clear to Thelma now, more than ever. It had begun to rain, although it made not the slightest difference to the pair, sat in their favourite spot in the whole world - together. That was until Thelma spotted a familiar figure stroll past with a knowing grin on her face. Roxanne.
"What can I say, girls?" She said bitterly, as she walked slowly past them, more than likely not heading anywhere in particular, but just following Thelma to see if anything would happen. Thelmas heart sank; not because Roxanne had seen them, but that she expected Cassie to yet again pull away from her, to leave her in uncertainty. But that moment never came. Thelma looked at Cassie nervously, not sure what to do; whether or not to pull away, to let Cassie make her excuses. Cassies eyes met hers, and in that instant she could read her spiky-haired friends mind. She leaned softly towards Thelma's ear, kissing her cheek, and whispered quietly and soothingly - "I don't care what they think. Its you I care about."
And those eleven words meant the world to Thelma.

Cassie slammed the door and lent against it catching her breathe, she stayed like that for what seemed like an eternity. Confusion washed over her and a thousand thoughts swam back and forth in her head. What was she going to do?
She moved from the door and slowly toward the window, resting her elbows on the window-sill she gazed out across the vast fields surroundin Medenham hall and the ageing trees dotted around the grounds. Something moved...in that tree.
Cassie's skin ran cold and she leaned closer to the glass straining to see. Nothing. Her imagination was running away with her..
Resting her head in her hand Cassie was at a loss, how had things become so twisted, her and Thelma had always been happy as friends right? She felt herself begin to cry, closing her eyes hard to prevent it she collapsed in a heap on the floor..

She expected Thelma to come to the room, draw her into her arms, kiss her, try to convince her everything would be okay because they had each other. She'd did it god knows how many times in the past few weeks. That moment never came. Cassie stayed on the floor sobbing, not knowing how much time had passed, not really caring.
Finally she glanced at the alarm clock. 8:06. The night was still young and Cassie decided she needed to get away, if only for a few hours. She'd go to a club. Maybe if she got drunk she could just forget about the whole situation. With a heavy sigh she got up, crossed to her dresser and picked out her nicest dress. Moving to her dressing table, she began to put on makeup to hide the unmistakable tear marks.
She arrived at the club at precisely 9:00. First stop was the bar, were she ordered a lager...

Presented with her drink, Cassie took a long deep mouthful hoping she'd find an answer to her problems here.
She took her drink and found a dark corner to drown her sorrows in. She scanned the room look for someone. Anyone.
Her eyes rested on a tall stranger looking in her direction. Cassie's shyness returned to her and she broke his gaze and lowered her head.
Curiosity got the better of her. Pulse racing she lifted her head and confidently turned towards him. He was gone.
In his place...

Was another man. Cassie had already started walking towards the tall stranger, and thought she'd look like an idiot if she didnt sit down by the new guy. Placing herself opposite, she flashed him a smile, which he returned. She thought she seen something sinister in her smile, but it was probably her suspicions getting the better of her.
"Never seen you round here before" The man said in a thick irish accent. The whites of his dark, dark eyes glowed in the shady darkness of the club. He leaned forward, grinning, displaying a flash of perfectly white teeth.
"I dont often come out" Cassie said nervously, taking a prolonged sip of her lager. The man chuckled.
"Looks like you dont take long to down a pint. That ones nearly gone. Let me buy you another one" He winked, and was already at the bar before she had a chance to reply. It wasnt like Cassie to accept drinks from total strangers, but what did she have to lose?
A few similar hours passed, with the man buying Cassie numerous other drinks. By midnight she was feeling very dizzy, and found herself telling him all about Thelma.
"Im not a dyke though" She giggled, knocking back her tenth pint, "No, not me, Im definalty NOT a dyke" She collapsed onto the glass table, giggling harder.
"I think you've had enough" The man said, lifting her up off the table and guiding her towards the back entrance, "Let me take you home"
"Whatever" She said, clinging onto him as he steared he took her to the back alley...

She stumbled out the door, the man holding her up just a little too tightly. Cassie stood up trying to regain her balance..
"Maybe I should go home.."
"And spoil the evening..come on, I'll take care of you" he slipped his arm around her waist pulling her face toward his..
Cassie pulled away regaining some of her composure,
"Really. I should go. Please"
His embrace tightened and Cassie begain to panic, struggling she tried to push him away as his hand closed around her mouth his strength pushing her to the floor..
"HEY!" a loud shout echoed through the alleway, the strangers grasp loosened, seizing this opportunity Cassie, using all her strength, pushed him away and ran.
It seemed like she had been running for hours before she reached the school...

Once she reached the school Cassie didn't know what to do. She didn't feel like running into Thelma, she wouldn't understand. And Cassie was afraid that after everything calmed down she may be angry withe her for going out.
Cassie felt all of the tiny hairs on the back of her neck stand on end, she quickly spun round. She saw the tall stranger from the bar, the one she had originally walked over to. He smiled a sexy smile and began to walk away. His stare had seemed to tell Cassie to follow him. And she did.

By this point the shock of the previous situation had sobered Cassie up but she was beginning to feel dizzy again..this time it wasn't because of the drink.
She took the stairs slowly, the stranger always just out of reach quietly walking before her. The silent darkness around them engulfed Cassie like a velvet blanket pulled over her..she paused.
She'd already made the mistake of following one stranger tonight, what made this different? She should go back to Thelma..but her heart told her this was different. He was different.
He stopped by a door, one Cassie didn't recognise, his hand resting on the doorknob he turned and spoke
"Are you ready Cassie?" His voice like silk hung in the air, how did he know her name..

Cassie stares up at him in disbelief. Curious yet scared. "How do you know me?" Cassie said, barely a whisper. The stranger came right next to her, she could feel his breath as she open her eyes. He chuckled gave her a light kiss on the lips smiled, then turned around. And kept walking, he turned around looked at Cassie and simply said. "Hurry up, i have something to show you."

"Ready for...what exactly?" She asked. The man raised an eyebrow. "Who are you?" She said, more forcefully this time.
He just opened his mouth to speak, but his words were cut out by a anxious voice.
"Cassie?" The blonde turned round, to see Thelma running up the corridor, clad in her pajamas. She turned back, and the man had vanished.
"Cassie, where on earth have you been?" Thelma gathered her into her arms, clinging on tightly. She pulled her back, so she could take a good look at her, "Your a mess! I've been so worried all night" Cassie didnt reply, but let Thelma lead her back to there room. She sat her down on the edge of her bed.
"What happened?" Thelma asked, sitting down next to her. Cassie shook her head, not sure herself about what happened. She stayed like that for a few minutes, trying to make sense of all her confused thoughts, and didnt notice Thelma gently taking off her dress.
"What are you doing?" She snapped, pushing her away.
"Well, I just thought I'd put your pajamas on, as you seemed quite incapable of speaking a moment ago, and I figured you'd need a bit of help moving as well" She tossed Cassie the said Pj's.
"I can undress myself, thank you very much" Cassie said angrily, beginning to regain her composure. A smile played across Thelma's face.
"Well, thats not what you usually say, you usually want me..."
"Dont be vulgar" Cassie threw her friend a filthy look. Thelma shrugged, and got into her own bed. Cassie began to undress, then climbed into her own bed.
"Do you love me?" Thelma asked, for the second time that night. Cassie rolled over, so she was facing away from her roomate. Her head was still full of confused thoughts.
"I dont know" She finally replied, switching her light off.

Cassie heard Thelma walk over to the door and then with a click th light was on. "Cassie I need to know, do you love me?" Thelma asked urgently. "I...I..I love you as a friend, i got that confused for a while. Im not gay Thelma. After everything thats happened with my parents i needed to feel loved, to feel...wanted," Cassie heard Thelmas muffled sobs as she spoke. She kept her head down, she couldn't get herself to look at Thelma. "Im sorry I took advantage of you." When Cassie looked up she saw Thelma fully dressed, she didn't say anything just turned around and ran out slamming the door as she went. Cassie fell onto her bed sobbing, why was her life like this, why had she hurt Thelma so badly, her only true friend in the world. Cassie woke to the sound of the door opening, she sat up and said; "Thelma im glad your," but when she looked up she saw the mysterious man. He smiled at her came over, sat on her bed and as he was rubbing the mascara from her eyes he said, "So are you going to come now?".
