Obviously the end of the world is pretty well covered in the Bible but interestingly The Book of Enoch, which all good Hex Mythology fans will now know, is the source of the mythology about the fallen angels and the Nephilim, has something to say about the end of days. Thankfully not much of it has to do with a curly haired brat with an obsession for marker pen tattoos.
90.17 And I looked at that man, who wrote the book at the command of the Lord, until he opened that book, of the destruction that those last twelve shepherds had wrought. And he showed, in front of the Lord of the sheep that they had destroyed even more than those before them had.
90.18 And I looked until the Lord of the sheep came to them, and took the Staff of His Anger and struck the earth. And the earth was split. And all the animals and the birds of the sky fell from those sheep, and sank in the earth; and it closed over them.
90.19 And I looked until a big sword was given to the sheep; and the sheep went out against all the wild animals to kill them. And all the animals, and birds of the sky, fled before them.
90.20 And I looked until a throne was set up in a pleasant land, and the Lord of the sheep sat on it. And they took all the sealed books, and opened the books in front of the Lord of the sheep.
Obviously the sheep are us human's with the biblical notion of God as the good shepheard. Wild animals could possibly be demons, I'm not sure. Verse 19:17 basically implies that the most reacent leaders of the world have caused more death and destruction than any others (sound familiar yet?) Verse 19:18 implies some kind of massive natural disaster, an impact with earth or a huge earthquake
The last two verses are hopefull though, that the faithful and the good will live under the protection of God and will be given knowledge and ways to protect themselves from evil.
Oh and some academics have worked out that Enoch's prophesies point to the end of days being in.....dum dum duuuuum.....2006.
