Got this link sent to me today: www.filmspot.com/people/400834/laura-pyper/index.htmlThe bio and credits probably aren't anything we don't already know, but what I found interesting was the stuff I saw when I clicked the "Trivia" button. I didn't know that Laura had done most of her own stunt work, and there are some interesting quotes from her below that. I was also sent this link to a bunch of black and white photos of her: www.flickr.com/photos/jonathanhill/470118149/ Sorry if you all have already seen these.

Thanks for the links, aquarius. I've not seen those black & white photos before. Is it just me, or does Laura look very similar to Anna Wilson-Jones in some of those pictures?

Is it just me, or does Laura look very similar to Anna Wilson-Jones in some of those pictures? A little, depending on the tilt of her head. I think they could pass for relatives in a couple of them. In others, you definitely see the Ella Dee in her, even without the costuming and makeup.

She does look pretty in those shots, they're very stylish. Thanks for the link! Random fact: the guy who took those pictures is a relative of Chris O'Dowd (Irish actor, was Laura Pyper's boyfriend - I'm assuming still is). He's got a blog somewhere that mentions both of them every now and then. aquarius, I don't know if you've seen it but there's a thread on Laura Pyper in General Discussion you might find interesting; there's a link in there to a short film starring her and posts from robgairey about some of her recent theatre performances.

Useless? Never!! Especially to someone who's just started writing her first Hex fanfic. I just might have to ask you to be my official Hex fact-checker!

Awesome find, CC!
Slightly off-topic for the thread (but not really because they mention it in the article CC posted), I really hate the comparisons of Hex to Buffy. Sure, if you're telling someone unfamiliar with the show about it, they're going to want a frame of reference (as in "if you like Buffy, I think you'll like Hex, too"), but to say that Hex tried to BE Buffy is really unfair, I think. A friend suggested the opposite, that since I like Hex I should give Buffy a try, and I've been watching reruns for about a week. It's okay, but it just hasn't grabbed me the way Hex did.

Chris O'Dowd. Irish actor, was Laura Pyper's boyfriend - I'm assuming still is. Apparently so. The latest issue of Total TV Guide has a short feature on the second season of The IT Crowd. It says that O'Dowd is 'dating Hex actress Laura Pyper'. Lucky devil. ;D

Good to know they're still together. His career's really taking off - he's got a couple of decent-looking films coming up as well as The IT Crowd 2.0. Been a while since we've heard anything about Laura acting-wise though. This old interview with her mentions that she was supposed to be doing a film with Marilyn Manson. Wonder what happened to that?..

Laura Pyper is guest-starring in an episode of The Bill, 'Shadow Stalker', on Thursday 3rd January (ITV1, 8pm). Be good to see her back on our screens again. Episode synopsis (contains spoilers): PC Sally Armstrong (Ali Bastian) and Sergeant Stone (Sam Callis) visit Mandy Glover (Laura Pyper) who has been assaulted in a nearby park. She tells the officers she was attacked on her way home from the bar she works at, but the suspect fled when he was disturbed by some joggers. Mandy says that she has been receiving nuisance phone calls for weeks and feels like she’s been watched. Stone later discovers that Mandy had recently been seeing counsellor Michael Cantor (David Sibley).
Back at the station, a sex offenders list is put together and Trainee DC Kezia Walker (Cat Simmons) is shocked to see Kevin Mallory’s (Morgan Jones) name, a man she arrested for the rape of two students when she was a PC. Comparing the cases, Kezia is convinced he is the attacker, but after questioning him she is frustrated that they have no evidence.
Later, Sally realises that Mandy has left her phone at the station and heads to her flat to return it. When she hears Mandy screaming for help, she breaks down the door and frees a terrified Mandy who has a plastic bag over her head and her hands tied. The officers soon decide that the only way to catch the attacker is for Sally to go undercover working in the bar with Mandy while Stone keeps a watchful eye.
After their shift, a scared Mandy walks back through the park and the attacker strikes again. Officers are stunned when they chase a shadowy figure through the trees and discover it’s her counsellor, Michael. When questioned, Michael admits that he was in the park but didn’t attack Mandy. After further investigation, they realise who the real attacker is, but it may be too late for Kezia, who finds herself alone with him.
