Woah. Just, woah.
I tell you now, if you're practically minutes from going into labour or are of a nervous disposition, you may want to hold off seeing this.
I've seen "scary" films before. I've jumped, I've gaped, I've gasped, but none of them have actually scared me. It was the fun kind of scared, where you want more and more to scare you, so you therefore enjoy the film (and thus, the whole experience) more.
However, I was so scared by this film I almost walked out! I was loving the film, but had my hand over my mouth the entire time and actually have aches where I was so tense through the whole thing.
The story was a tad confusing (got it at the end, though) but it wasn't gory, it wasn't a slasher or really stupid, it was genuinally scary.
I recommend you watch it, but not alone, like I did!

You honestly thought it was scarey? We are talking about the Sarah Michelle Gellar/Jason Behr versionm right? I was really dissapointed with how totally not scarey in the slightest I found it...personally I thought the Japenese ghosts were more amusing than scarey with their funny white makeup...
And like you said, the plot didn't make a lot of sense. A lot of it was drawn together by the end, but there's still a lot that wasn't explained very well...I was also dissapointed that Jason Behr, and even SMG for that matter, didn't have bigger roles.

Yeah I was quite surprised at how little she was in it until say, half way through, but I did like the way they slowly revealed things through flashbacks. Quite unconventional, that. It's better than having someone explain everything over the phone or something.

Clea Duvall was indeed in it...she's part of a lengthy flashback so you don't get to see her interacting with SMG or JB, but she was pretty cool, I like her. Tell them not to be so wussy, it's not scary

If it's anything like The Ring I'll enjoy it. I love suggested/psychological horror rather than the boring blood and guts stuff.

I want to see the movie but I hate SMG... yes I know, I'm obsessed with Buffy and I'm a HUGE fan of the show but I just can't stand her *dodges stuff being thrown*

That's a bit harsh, lol. You "hate" her? You don't know her! LOL

Well me and my friend agree... she seems like I total b*tch in real life from what we've seen and she always seems so fake during tv interviews. Ok fine I don't hate her, I just really REALLY dislike her. Better? lol

Better hehe. I get what you're saying: she seems to have a fixated grin whever she talks to newspapers. However, I like her acting so that's good enough for me, lol.

don't know if i'm just a huge wuss but this film scared me. i spent the whole time with either my hands over my eyes peeking through or staring at the carpet. and personally i love SMG. i just think shes kinda standoffish with the press because she likes her privacy

I'd be a bit like that i think. I wouldn't mind her career in film, but I wouldn't like Stalkerazzi trying to catch me on the toilet in the morning so they could put it in the Sun or anything like that

yeah exactly, i mean the press can just be so evil. like you said there's the people waiting until you look your worst to take your pic so that they can publish it and everyone can laugh at you. and then theres the 'journalists' whose only purpose in life is to insult and kick down everyone who might be in any way successful, like an actor. they love to bring people down, and if they're already down then they like to give them a good kicking. i just think its really harsh, so i can understand her being guarded and stuff

I watched an interview with her when Sky One went on the set of Buffy. Obviously no other camera/people around, and she seemed relaxed, friendly and she's really quite funny!

I would get seriously peed off if I was hounded by the paparatzi 24/7, so yes I would be very stand-offish with them. I can get really moody sometimes, so the papers would probably hate me ;D
