Grr, I just have to have a bit of a rant. Does it annoy anyone else when in magazines if a girl is skinny they always talk about how she should actually eat. Fair enough, some people do starve themselves so they can be thin, but not all thin people starve themselves Theres such a thing as naturally skinny. Im really thin but I eat absolutely loads! People need to stop presuming if someone is thin they do it by starving themselves. They dont seem to realise that we'd actually like to be a bit curvier, just like bigger people would like to be a bit thinner. Rant over.

also the same magazines will happily rip an ultra thin celeb apart if they so much as put on a pound....mixed signals or what!
I'm not one to comment on weight. Like I said before I've been through the whole eating disorder thing...I always think I'm about 3 stones heavier than I actually am. It's messed up and not at all fun.

Yeah. Magazines are just so harsh- no wonder some people stop eating if theyre getting called fat for being a perfectly normal size and how they always say 'big is better' oh, this person has the right idea. Acting like if you just happen to be skinny your under the illusion that you look better and you can just go and put on weight, its not easy for some people. I used to want to be a journalist but not with the way most of them are, I'd be scared I'd morph into some kind of monster

Not all journalists are that bad, it's just tabloidy stuff and gossip columns/glossy mags that seem to be the monsters! What do you want to do now then Jaimie?

I have no idea. Quite confused about it all. I want to be an actress but not everyone makes it so if I couldnt be that I'd be interested in something to do with criminals, like police or something, but then I think thats a bit mundane *no offense to anyone intended* Grr hell to it, I want to be rich and famous ;D

Yeah mags piss me off when they start all that malarkey. For example, I read the National Enquirer (ok, i know it's a stupid mag) and it had two articles:
1) A 2 page spread on Mary-Kate Olsen, who was looking like a bag of bones at premiere of their new film. They were slating her for being anorexic. And of course there was the obligatory "bigger is better" blob of mush.
2) A 2 page spread of Kirsty alley and how "fat" she had gotten, and how bad she looks now, etc, etc.
Like you've all mentioned, magazines are like Miss World. They scream "world peace!" but all they want really is attention and money.
It's like, I've read articles saying "10 things men REALLY like in a woman!"
Um... HOW? I'm sorry, but of the almost 3 BILLION men on this planet, how can they say "we question 50 men and this is what every single man in the world wants based on these 50 men".
Like:
1) Confident women (Alot of men get turned off by an overly confident women!)
2) Curves (I know some men who like their women rather on the large side and others who prefer skinny types)
3) Women who don't drink too much (I remember an ex-boyfriend who would moan at me if I said "nah, i don't wanna drink" cos he thought i was being moody!)
I just don't like the way they claim to be gospel.
