Okay, after MUCH work and revision I decided that the existing story I had for Dead Chaos, my original web-series-to-be was, well, for lack of a better word, a steaming pile of crap, lol.
So, here's the final revised version, including backstory. I've combined fact with religious history along with mythology I've made up myself. I think it's one hell of an improvement on what I had before:
Present day. An ancient cult known as The Seal enlist their newest member, Tim Kane, grandson of current cult leader, Hadrian Kane. Little do they know, Tim only joined The Seal so he could destroy that which they guard with their lives: The Spear of Christ.
The spearhead was said to have been driven into the chest of Christ during his crucifixion, making the nearly blind Roman soldier who stabbed him able to see again. This soldier gathered up his Brethren in secret and began The Seal. It was believed that whoever lunged the spearhead into their own heart, would gain immortality.
Of course, it was never tested.
For thousands of years, The Seal guarded and worshipped the spearhead until Tim Kane stole it with intentions of destroying it. He saw evil in it and knew that no good could come from anyone messing around with those kinds of powers.
However, all did not go as planned for Tim. He hid in the back garden of Samantha Slater, a 21 year old student. When Samatha finds him, Tim begins to hear voices and loses control of his body as the spearhead lunges itself into Samantha's heart. Tim, getting control back, makes a run for it with the spearhead. Samantha dies in the presence of her friends Will Parker and Chloe Gellar, who find her.
Two days later, all the clocks stop, electricity flickers all over and the days seem shorter and darker. In the morgue, close to her autopsy, Samantha Slater awakes from death confused and disortiented. Slowly, she makes her way home to her friends.
Now they must find out what caused this to happen and how they can stop the strange things that keep happening; eternal night, spirits walking the earth, voices and the pending destruction of the world.
