The Doctor returns to EastEnders- From Outpost Gallifrey: "A report in Saturday's The Sun says that "Doctor Who is to land in EastEnders -- and be served pints in the Queen Vic by Peggy Mitchell. The telly Timelord, played by David Tennant, will touch down his time-travelling Tardis in Albert Square in the new series of the BBC1 sci-fi hit. Landlady Peggy -- 68-year-old actress Barbara Windsor -- will pop up behind the bar, while other EastEnders stars could also appear. An insider said: 'The Doctor and his sidekick Rose (Billie Piper) have travelled galaxies far and wide and battled vile aliens, but they've never come up against Peggy Mitchell. ... The funniest thing is she'll be calling 'Time' to the original Timelord.' A source close to Babs said: 'She's thrilled. She's a very big fan of Doctor Who and feels very honoured.'" Of course, this isn't the first time that Doctor Who has crossed paths with EastEnders... that would be the charity special "Dimensions in Time" filmed in the early 1990's. No word as to whether or not this is part of the story, or yet another TV tie-in that may have something to do with a story element."

So far still no word on an airdate for the upcoming series. The Cruel Sea: The third comic strip featuring the Ninth Doctor and Rose from DWM 359 to 362 and written by Dalek writer Robert Shearman. Very good. Found this very creepy. We even get to see what would have happened if Rose had not travelled with the Doctor. Perhaps the most frightening part was when Rose looked at the mirror. Meanwhile the age limit has been extended for Totally Doctor Who: www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/news/cult/news/drwho/2006/03/10/30264.shtml

Doctor Who Confidential was not shown on the Australian ABC and recently I started to watch the cutdown version on DVD. Thought I make my comments on it as I go through them.
Bringing Back The Doctor: Following on Rose in its original transmission. Quite like the music at the beginning. I finally get to see what director Keith Boak and costume designer Lucinda Wright look and sound like. I noticed that when Chris on set for The Empty Child he said "For today I am" when telling the kids that he is the Doctor. Of course just some days after this was originally broadcast it was revealed that Chris was leaving at the end of the first season. We get to see the recording of a Big Finish audio with Peter Davison and Nicola Bryant (who I am also seeing in the Revelation of the Daleks DVD). Found out from DWM months ago that the story that was recorded at that time was Scaredy Cat. Curious to know that the crew had to wait for a bus to come by when shooting Rose. Checked with TV.com to find out what was missing in the cutdown version which included Russell T Davies why there was no regeneration of Paul McGann into Chris Eccleston at the beginning: "It would be madness. To start with one leading man and then change him ten minutes in. You've got to think of this as a new programme. YOu are mad if you think that at eight years old, you'd watch Paul McGann walk on screen, get hit by a laser ball and turn into someone else. When you get to love the ninth Doctor, when he changes, that's when you'll feel it"." He does have a point.
Also missing was Sylvester McCoy on having to wear Colin Baker costume for the regeneration scenes: "He's a larger man than me...they lost me for three days in there". Funny.
Quite enjoyed it. Look forward to more of Confidential even it they are cutdowns.

Recently I found out from the Doctor Who Reference Guide, the reason why it got cutdown for the release because of the costs and licensing the classic series and clips.
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly: Shown after The End of the World. Love the upbeat music at the beginning. Finally see director Euros Lyn in the flesh on-screen. Interesting to see Jimmy Vee getting into his Moxx of Balhoon costume. Yasmin Bannerman (Jabe) got it right when saying the aliens are not monsters since they are monstrous. Not to mention the monster turns out to be Cassandra the last surviving human. Visual Effects Producer Will Cohen who also did work on Hex is interviewed here. Like the 2001-like music when Russell T. Davies said it was the expensive episode they have made. I like the woman who stood in for Zoe Wanamaker as Cassandra.
Incidentally I happen to finished reading Part 1 of Production Designer Ed Thomas's interview in DWM 360 which included concept design drawings for Platform One.

I feel it's safe to revive this thread now! LOL
I'm surprised no ones posted about the new series yet (unless I've missed it somewhere else.
I thought last weeks New Earth was a great start to the series and with David Tennant as the Doctor, it's almost like the Ecclestone era never happened. I though Billie did a really nice job of playing Cassandra as well! I'm looking forward to tomorrows episode....werewolves...always fun!

I think Tennant's taken over the role brilliantly, I was one of the first to complain when Ecclescakes left but safe to say I'm loving the new guy! I thought last week's episode was good, I liked Cassandra taking over Rose's body and Billie's lil accent change, plus I'm betting Matt loved the whole 'bouncy castle' references Tonight's should be cool, but I'm going out dammit so I shall set up at least 3 vcr's and watch it tomorrow morning!

haha So I've now seen this week's episode, guess it's safe to say we know what Jack'll be doing when he gets his spin off. I thought I was being really clever noticing the name of the house but then the gnarly old queen had to go and say it about ten thousand times at the end just to rub it in "Monkey Monk Monks" - LOL Tennant's actually morphing into Jarvis Cocker isn't he? I mean the suit and sneakers is far enough but the glasses? Come on.... Anthony Head's in next week's episode!! *dances*

I know, I was all grins when I saw Anthony Head. It looks like it'll be improving too. I have to say although I liked this episode, the first two haven't been awesome to me, they've just been... quite good and watchable.

I agree they've not been the strongest of episodes. I'm getting a bit tired of Rose and The Doctors "cute" relationship at the moment so I'm looking forward to Sarah-Jane next week.
Good werewolf though, much better than most TV attempts I've seen and Doctor Who's mediocre is most other show's absolutely fab so I'm quite happy.
