I think reality TV is ruining television.

I mean, when Big Brother was first aired (before the bombardment of reality TV we're now receiving), I admit I thought it was original, but I never watched it cos let's face it, I can sit around and stare at my own family if I wanna watch, cooking, chatting, sleeping and arguing, can't I?

Also, whilst we're on that point... who in the hell wants to watch someone sleep for ten hours? I sure as hell don't!

Now, thanks to BB, we're subdued to masses of "let's stick a camera ANYWHERE and get people to just, y'know, do anything at all and we'll make money."

Oh I completely agree with you there!

I think reality tv is titilating sh*te put on the tv because the degenerate generation will watch it. They cancel shows like Angel/Firefly/Point Pleasant etc etc even though they have big fanbases to make way for programmes which show wannabe z-list celebs sleeping/sh*gging/generally making a prat of themselves in front of cameras.

However those of us who have lacklustre social lives will watch the odd episode as it appears to be the only thing on. And I will inevitably get dragged into the obsessive 'who will win' phase of it all.

I won't watch it everyday and I won't be watching the E4 'watch them sleep for 8 hours' extras but I will watch some of it and I will talk about it...sorry

Give me Hex or Buffy anyday but at the moment...my viewing choices are limited...even bloody Desperate Housewives is finishing next week

It's not been cancelled..it's just the last episodes of this series on Wednesday. There will be a second series though...

The tv stations just need to get their arses in gear and go back to dramas and not just reality shows and cop/detective dramas. There are so many good books out there and kids are reading more these days so maybe they should monopolise on that and bring back the Sunday evening drama....does anyone else remember The Children of Green Knowe or The Box of Delights? hehe

I agree, DD. There's too many 'who dunnit' US cop shows, which are all identical (even the characters are comparable) and with so many good shows getting axed to make way for reality sh*t, they need to get their act together!

(I however plan to save the day by making several for the internet heeheehee)

I don't watch it, BUT i did see that total nasty person come out on friday what a horrible bully.

I do wish all reality tv would just go away & never come back though.
