Right. Let's begin by saying the legal age for anyone to have sex is 16. To pose for nude or sexy pictures you must be over 18. Right? So... Beauty Pageants. These children are five years old, sometimes younger, yet they are dressed up and photographed for looking beautiful and cute. Their skirts come way above their knees and their hair and make up is that of a twenty-one year old. To me, this is no better than 'soft' kiddie porn. You're photographing these kids to get some kind of sick enjoyment watching them walk around looking 'sexy'. I have to say, I hate them and I'm not alone - LOTS of people worldwide hate them. HOWEVER, saying that, why doesn't anyone ever complain about child actor photoshoots? I was doing a random search for Harry Potter and found alot of fan sites for Emma Watson, who's 15 (she was 11 in the first film) with photoshoots of her posing in dresses and skirts and so on. To me, this is no different. These photos are being taken for our enjoyment. But why? People who are 11 shouldn't be gawping over pictures like that and people over 18 definately shouldn't be staring at 11 years olds! It's hard to explain my point, but do you get what I'm saying?  |

Agreed! I also find some of the Harry Potter related fandom, of grown people writing slash fic about teachers and students at Hogwarts thats basically paedophillia then drooling all over it. (sorry if anyone's a crazy HP fan but I don't like that kind of thing. Incest fic and rape fic upsets me too.)

Some of the Harry Potter fiction is downright scary. Theres loads of Fred/George storys  They call it 'Twincest'...its just wrong. |

I love the HP films, but what I like about them is the stories and the special effects and stuff. I mean yeah, I think Rupert whatshisface is adorable, but I don't fancy him and I certainly wouldn't write erotic fiction about him!
I mean... I'm not against slash fiction whatsoever. Some of it can be quite interesting to read (and humourous lol) but incest and underage sex? It's not much better than going out there and doing it yourself.

Absolutely! There is a very obvious line that certain people writing this fanfictions seem to ignore. Emma Watson is a very beautiful girl and she will be absolutely stunning when she's older but we should let her enjoy her childhood and grow up before parading her around like all the other actors/actresses out there! However although there is no need for these pictures any of the sick people who are turned on by it don't need that kind of encouragement they will find other ways to make an innocent actress appear to be what she is not. I think it's fine for people to have crushes on the younger actors though, I mean if lots of fourteen year old girls have a crush on Harry Potter thats cute but as El Kneetrollo pointed out if you are over 18 then you certainly shouldn't be looking at these children for anything other than what they are. Children & Actors. Hmm..that was a bit rambling..sorry if any of it doesn't make sense or is absolute b******s  |

It's fine for other kids to have crushes on the actors but it just freaks me out because if you changed the context, say if I were to perve over one of my students who was only 14/15 (*shudder* perish the thought!!) people would be horrified, but because they are in the public eye people feel it's fine to treat them like fresh meat. Ick. I feel the beauty pagent thing pretty much equates with that.
I love the Harry Potter books and films but only because of the plot for goodness sake.

That's what angers me about this whole Jacko fiasco. Okay, so he's a free man. Whatever. Let's just assume that he didn't sexually assult any boys.
He admitted that he still had them sleeping in his bed (illegal) and he saw nothing wrong with that (wrong and illegal). So he should be in jail anyway. Also he should have his weirdo arse in jail cos he hung his kid over a balcony. He's not a fit Daddy-O.

I swear some Harry Potter diehards just scare the hell out of me just how obsessive they can get.
What's funny is that on a HP thread on a Killers forum I looked at the cover of the Half Blood Prince and said that the HPB was Saruman (because Dumbledore looks like him on the cover) and then there was a dozen posts saying:
'what's a saruman?'
'i dunno'
'wasnt saruman a villain in lotr?'
