Well, I caved. I bought Cold Mountain. It was awful buying it cos it was right next to Coffee and Cigarettes (another movie with Jack and Meg in) so I was a tad torn, but I'd heard that he sings folk music in Cold Mountain (a genre I love) so I bought that one. That boy has some acting skills on him! I really really enjoyed the film too, which was cool, cos I'd read some iffy reviews and was worried I'd have to sit through two hours bored stupid. I have to say though the film didn't make me cry like some of my mates said it did them. You know what bit choked me up? Where they were all gathered around Georgia and co listening to him sing "Wayfaring Stranger", which is possibly one of the saddest, most beautiful folk songs ever written. Anyhoo, what else....? Ooh yeah: 1) A bloke who has a feature page on the BBC site (filmmaker) has asked to see an example of my acting skills cos he's making a short movie and is looking to cast it! 2) I'm making a Meg White fansite called 'Little Drummer Girl' and here's a screenshot of the main page:

He is rather sweet looking in that film... considering how independent and highly strung he can come across, he's very homely in the film!
I've seen scans of the MOJO interview - very very cool. Love the Mariachi trousers!

Cool. It's not really my kind of film, but if it has jack is in it i may have to borrow it off somone . Jude law was in like 10 billions films last year & this year LOL, how on earth does he manage it..kinda funny since most bombed.

Overhype. Personally I don't rate Jude Law as an actor. Sure he's handsome, but he's just pretty much the same ladies man in every film, etc, etc.
If you get it for Jack but don't wanna watch the movie, skip forward about 1 hour 40 minutes (I kid you not) cos you won't see none of him until then!
Oh and watch the extra features, cos on "Journey to Cold Mountain" there's a beautiful live performance of "Wayfaring Stranger", the song he sings in the movie.

I think Jude's made some unwise film choices HOWEVER, I have seen him in theatre, which is where he started many many moons ago and he's actually a supurb stage actor. He played the lead in Doctor Faustus and just blew everyone away, I just think he's been type cast a lot in film.
He's very good in The Talented Mr Ripley and ooooh Road to Perdition where he plays completely against type very successfully. I thought he was okay in Cold Mountain too. In Skycaptain he played the swashbuckler well too. Oh and Gattaca, again not playing the ladies man...he should take more varied roles.
He's also a very very nice, down to earth guy in person.

...'cept for the whole cheating on Sadie with Sienna then cheating on her with the nanny of his children I agree with the typecasting thing though and just because the recent films he was in bombed doesn't automatically mean it's his fault, it's just the fact that so many came out at once...although Closer & Alfie were pants!

Closer was a wicked play, I can't even bring myself to watch the film.
Sadie Frost....strange lady...I've heard some very bizzare stories about her from someone who knew her and Jude. Weirdness. The whole drugs incident with their kid was shitty too.
