i nticed that most programmes on telly usually appear on dvd about 6-8 months later but because its on itv im not sure if its the same rule Actually it's based to how much the comapnies want to make money. Consider House season one compared to Prison Break and Lost. Because the latter two are doing much better they are actually churning out DVD boxsets before the season is finished. And even splitting them into two parts!

Easily my favorite new show, my only complaint hasn't happened for you guys yet so I won't spoil it. The special effects blow me away in each episode and like stated above the brotherly dynamic is the shows strongest point.

I don't watch Supernatural. I saw the first four or five episodes of the first season when ITV2 started broadcasting the series, but found that I didn't particularly like or care about the Winchester brothers. So I didn't have any incentive to keep watching. However, today I've discovered that an iconic horror villain is going to appear in the tenth episode of the third season. you should actually give it another go...I found that the first few episodes of the first series were really formulaic and dull but the latter half of the series really hit it's stride and the relationship between the Winchester boys really developed and became a big part of why I enjoyed it so much.
It's developed a really interesting mythology and there have been some great guest stars including Amy Acker and Amber Benson (for Buffy/Angel fans).

I'm actually on a bit of a sabbatical from American TV at the moment. A few years ago I was religiously following almost a dozen U.S. shows, watching and/or recording something every night. But with an average American season being 22 - 26 episodes, eventually I just couldn't keep up. The stacks of VHS tapes to watch were constantly growing, I'd occasionally forget to record something, I'd accidentally tape over episodes I hadn't watched yet, etc. Finally I decided to make a clean break, and apart from a few exceptions (How I Met Your Mother, ER, and more recently Californication) these days I don't bother with American series.
I realise that this means I'm probably missing some first-rate shows - friends are constantly recommending Lost, Prison Break and Heroes to me - but to be honest I've already got other pressing demands on my time. As I sit here, there are several books I've bought over the last few months that I haven't read yet. I've got some DVD boxsets still to watch, and a couple of albums that have lying around for a few weeks, waiting for me to listen to them. Plus I'm still persevering with my fanfic when I'm able.

Have learnt that the planned encounter between the Winchester boys and a major horror icon in episode #10 of the current season is no longer happening, due to 'rights issues'. Here's a link to more info; www.joblo.com/arrow/index.php?id=10208
