You've probably noticed this thread popping up on a few journals/boards I go on, but it's quite urgent and I'm desperate!
I need a title for a comedy (not a sitcom) that I'm submitting somewhere. It's set in a university following the STAFF around. Any suggestions?

STAFF! It's so bleedin' obvious and quite good too, oddly enough.
What about "Oh the Humanities!" (note: it is clear in the series that the staff all work in the Humanities block of a University doing History and English)

These are the only ones I could think up, none of them particularly inspired. Sorry!
Feeding The Animals.
In-Humanities.
The Humanities Factor (as in 'the human factor' - the way in which any situation will always be affected by a person's ability to get emotional, become reckless, screw up, be fallible, etc).
Alternatively, you could take a well known saying or fact relating to either the English language or a historical event, and make it the title (similar to the way in which Drop the Dead Donkey was about a TV news programme). Then ensure that you weave said fact or saying into the dialogue of the first episode. For example;
While Rome Was Burning.
Rhymes with Orange.
Bugger Bognor (supposedly the last words of King George the Fifth on his deathbed).

I thought of "University Daze" given that the main character is usually drunk, lol. What do you think?

oooh. some of those are major cringe inducing. yikes. puns can be really naff. For example Father Ted, Teachers, Black Books...no puns necessary and funny as hell.

Father Ted, Teachers, Black Books...no puns necessary and funny as hell. Valid point. How about something short and straightforward like Dons or Uni.

I know it's like "The Green Wing" it sounded like a Brit-rip-off of ER lmao.
See this is why I'm stuck... I can't think of anything non-punny that still fits in with the situation!
Keywords I could use:
University Professors Humanities English History Teachers Staff Room Learning Education
Saying that I just thought of this one: "Educated Guess" opinions?

There's that Blair quote, Education, Education, Education.
Blimey, this is difficult.

I know aye. So far, I'm liking STAFF and Educated Guess, I just wish I could think of something catchier!

Came across this thread and thought I'd resurrect it. How did the comedy submission go, Kneetroll? And what title did you eventually use?
