There is one this that really annoys me about this site, to be online at the same time as others (who are mainly based in the UK, and i am in New Zealand) i have to be online at either 12-3 in the morning or in the morning at like 7-8, but i am hardly ever up that early!
if you have this broblem please leave a comment, i am shure i am not the only one who has this problem. other that that, this site is really awesome!

I kind of know how you feel ... Ive got family and a lot of friends in Australia, most of the time theyre up & around to the wee hours. It used to be ideal when I worked nights, I could chat (IM) away to them, but all my friends in Oz have now turned into night owls ....

I'm in the Eastern time zone of the US, so I do experience this but to a much smaller degree. There's a five or six hour time difference between here and there (depending on if we're on Daylight Savings Time or not). I work a lot of afternoons so if I'm on in the late morning, I do manage to catch people from the UK here and there if they're checking the computer after work or school.
Also, if I'm on in the early evening, I manage to catch the night-owls from time to time.

Well...even for those of us in the same timezone there's no guarantee we'll log on and find anyone else around who isn't a 'guest'. Everyone has different posting habits after all, and there are so few of us still posting here that real-time isn't often an option. For instance if I'm working from home I tend to post during the afternoon, and there's rarely anyone else on here then. Which is probably because they're working, like I should be. ;D

yep, I teach so I can't post during the day (UK time). Even when this site was very active we rarely used to chat in real time anyway... You're not really making a criticism of this site so much as a criticism of the geographical positioning of continents and the motion of the earth round the sun. Us all being in different time zones isn't really a problem unique to or the fault of this board.

Well...even for those of us in the same timezone there's no guarantee we'll log on and find anyone else around who isn't a 'guest'. Y'know, now that you mention it, I belong to a lot of boards and at this one in particular I notice a lot more "guests" while I'm here than at any other board. Everyone's right, though. While it's fun to catch someone in the same discussion or game at the same time you're on, it usually doesn't happen all that often. I know that's a bummer if you're looking to be more social. If you're wanting to talk to people live, why not consider setting up a chat? Check out the time zone differences between you and the UK and the US, and try to set it up for a time when people on one continent or the other are likely to also be awake, and then invite people to it?
