Hi everyone! I am so excited to have just joined! I'm from the USA, Wisconsin. "Hex" was just shown over here on the BBC America over the Summer and I was instantly hooked!! But what they did, was they showed the first series (season) and 2 or 3 espisodes of the second series. So the season finale was the episode were Ella gets poisoned. They weren't going to show the rest of the season until Summer 2007. Well I just couldn't wait that long.... I went to Amazon.uk and order the full second series on DVD. But I had to watch it on my laptop because for some reason the DVD players in America don't work with DVD from other coutries. But that's okay it was well worth it. Now I am just waiting for Season 3. Can anyone fill me in as to if there is going to be one?

Hiya, welcome to the forums.
One of the first things you might want to do is read some of the more recent posts in the Hex forum because you'll find a lot of stuff has already been discussed. One of the major things is that the series was cancelled a while ago. Unfortunately Shine has decided to move on from Hex so it's sadly no more!

Greetings kissykat. I had to watch it on my laptop because for some reason the DVD players in America don't work with DVD from other countries. The makers of DVDs and DVD players have split the world into different 'regions'. For example, North America is Region One, the UK and Europe is Region Two, Australia is Region Four, etc. Therefore, American DVDs (Region One) cannot be played on UK specific players, and likewise American DVD players cannot play UK discs (Region Two). I believe this is partly due to copyright reasons. My understanding is that the copyright for movies and TV shows usually has to be renewed in each country, and ensuring that discs from one part of the world cannot be played in other continents helps minimize copyright infringement. However, some discs are Region Zero, which means they can be played anywhere. It's also possible to buy multi-regional DVD players, or obtain codes off the internet that can convert your player so that it plays other regions.
