A bit of a fanfic project/idea

Okay, I was thinking about the whole McBain side of the plot and how we all felt a bit unsatisfied about how the mythology of the McBain's was treated in both series so I was thinking, how about we write our own McBain fan fic collection.

What I was thinking was this. If there are enough people, we each pick a Mc Bain to write about, either Rachel, Esther, the victorian girl from Series 2 ep.1, Lilith Hughes (Cassie's Mum) and I'm sure we could squeeze in probably a Regency period McBain and perhaps an Edwardian one and a WW2 era one.

It could be kind of like the Tales of the Slayer stories that were written by various authors, each one picking a different slayer and telling their story, but based on the Mc Bain legacy.

The fics could be done in whatever style the author wants but obviously the only consistant elements have to be Azazeal and somehow thwarting his plans to have a child and anything that was mentioned in the series....hanging, insanity etc.

Anyone up for it?

Sounds like a great idea, but I won't be able to contribute for a while, as I'm currently concentrating on the Virtual Third Season (all being well, I hope to post Episode #9 sometime next week). I've actually got a plotline about the McBain family occurring in the next couple of episodes. Foreshadowing can be found earlier in the season.

At the risk of being nit-picky, it was Cassie's father who was a McBain, not her mother Lilith.

yes I know but it was Cassie's mother who was visited by Azazeal, that's why I've included her on the list.

Obviously Cassies dad will come in to it but it would be interesting to focus on the different women's relationships with Azazeal.

I've actually got ideas for some fanfic about the female character whom I think is one of the most overlooked in the series: Peggy.

I'd like to do a couple of stories about her when she was still alive. One would be a Perils of Pauline-type escapade, with a teenage Peggy getting up to all kinds of adventures and scrapes while visiting an archaeological dig in Egypt during the 1900s.
The other would be set in either 1915 or 1916, with Peggy recruited by the War Office to infiltrate a German spy ring operating amongst the upper classics, leading to an action packed climax on board a zeppelin (!).

Must confess that I'm not sure if I'm actually going to get around to writing them. I've a feeling that once I eventually finish the Virtual Third Season, I'm going to be all Hexed out for a while.

We'll see...

ooooh, some Peggy fanfic would be fabulous...I've had a bit of a plot idea for one myself bouncing around in my head but I'm not sure if anything will come of it yet.

Basically everything that happened that led the way, fill in all the blanks between the flashbacks we saw in season one.

Cool. The plan I have includes Esther but doesn't really detail her story.

And even if our stories about Esther differ it doesn't really matter...look at the bible! lol

Well so far we've done Rachel and Esther so the door is pretty much open as to what you want to do. I'm working on set in about 1810 at the moment and another one in the 1920's (but not at Medenham Hall) so you've pretty much got free reign.

The only limitations really is that you have to stick to anything that's happened in previous periods and if you're writing for someone who's appeared in the series that you stick to their character traits, but other than that it's a nice fanfic project mostly because you can do what you like really. My Esther fic for example is in a very different style to Fassbender Fan's Rachel fic.
