Like the title, I was hoping to find some co-writers and possibly some feedback on some ideas I had on a virtual series created around two characters (Dordran and Jorad) I have been doing things with on and off for 4-5 years now.
Here is what I have been working on in the past few hours (it's not perfect and there may be some typos in there, so please forgive me).
I felt that this sort of thing would be right up the alley of fans of HEX, as the themes are somewhat similar.
Well, I'll leave it there and give you the rest:
The Book of Dordran
A virtual series
Created by T.S. Flynn
Episode 1: Let There Be Light
Visiting his elderly grandfather on the eve of his 23rd Birthday, Leonard Thirch discovers that his entire world is a lie designed to protect him from an evil that has just reawakened after 700 years of slumber. But upon his grandfather's death, Leonard must take the mantle, the destiny, that was given to him all those centuries before he was even born.
Episode 2: Book of Dordran
Having found The Book of Dordran, Leonard tries in vane to find meaning in its jumbled language, but to do so will require the help of someone who fell prey to Jorad many years ago.
Episode 3: Mercy
Gravely injured from the 'Le'Thor' attack, Leonard finds himself at the mercy of Anna, who's apparent redemption may not be strong enough to keep her from falling once again under the thrall of Jorad.
Episode 4: Her Secret
After proving to herself, and to Leonard, that she has built the strength to resist past temptations, Anna finally comes clean about her role in Dordran's protection and his plans for Leonard. Meanwhile, Jorad encounters a setback in his re-strengthening after his failure to seduce Anna back into the fold.
Episode 5: Truth and Lies
Using Anna's translation instructions, Leonard is finally able to decipher the coded language his grandfather used to hide the secrets of The Book of Dordan, but what he finds is not at all what he expected. Jorad, having seduced a family that stumbled upon him, is finally able to leave his hiding place and explore the new world at his feet.
Episode 6: Love is War (Part 1)
Leonard gets his first taste of his true destiny when, under Jorad's influence, he tries to seduce Anna. Meanwhile, Anna tries in vain to resist this new temptation, but finds herself falling prey once more to her own feelings for Leonard.
Episode 7: Cloak and Dagger (Part 2)
Jorad grows ever more powerful with his two major hurdles now under his influence and control, however a new warrior has arisen from Dordran's book of magic, and he may not be ready to destroy it. Meanwhile, Leonard and Anna find it more and more difficult to remain cloaked amongst Jorad's minions as they draw closer and closer to the heart of the warlock's sudden and powerful re-emergence.
Episode 8: The Race
With Jorad's Lethorian Geode in their grasp, Leonard and Anna may finally be able to re-cast the spell Dordran once placed upon his wicked brother and put the warlock back into his slumber for the rest of time, but is the cost too much to bare? Jorad frantically seduces more and more people in order build up enough power to find the Heart of The Arturi, a stone used to connect all of the Lethorian Geodes that were ever created.
Episode 9: Until She Sings
Having subdued Jorad with Dordran's sleep spell at last, Anna and Leonard finally rest and try to embrace the relationship and feelings that showed themselves in Jorad's lair, however their time together may be shortlived when it becomes apparent that Jorad's hold over the seduced men and women did not fall asleep with him.
Episode 10:A Stitch In Time (Part 1)
Cut off from the world by time, Leonard and Anna must find a way to reverse the changes in the timeline that Jorad's minions created, but to do this they have to commit the ultimate sin as described in The Book of Dordran... sacrifice an innocent. Meanwhile, the sleep spell upon Jorad is released and with no Dordran or his two lieutenants to thwart him, he finds seducing the world into his control to be an almost effortless task.
Episode 11: Storm Front (Part 2)
Having failed to kill the newborn child as they planned, Anna and Leonard believe themselves to be trapped in 1928, when they receive a visit from an unexpected guest... a young and in his prime Dordran. Meanwhile, Jorad convinces the world to spend its precious commodities building a monument that may have a nefarious purpose, to the dismay of a small band of rebels who have managed to break free of Jorad's thrall.
Episode 12+13: Coda (Part 1)
Feature length season finale.
Having drained Dordran of most of his near-eternal life to get back from 1920, Anna and Leonard arrive in the present to find Jorad's new monument nearing completion and it is only by re-capturing The Book of Dordran that they can discover what it is and how to destroy it. Meanwhile the rebellion discovers the existence of the ruins of Jorad's birthplace, Castle Arturi, and struggle to find a way to travel to and explore it without being discovered by the rest of Jorad's new minions.
Episode 12+13: Coda (Part 2)
Feature length season finale.
Having discovered each other and joined forces, Anna, Leonard and the rebels make their way to Dordran and Jorad's old castle in order to find the Heart of The Arturi, the magical stone that Jorad tried to discover almost six months previously, but Dordran's protection of it may be too great for the band of heroes to break. Jorad's monument is finally complete and upon powering up it tears into the fabric of space and reality and opens a hole into what is seemingly hell itself, where the ultimate power lies in waiting for Jorad's posession.
Characters...
Leonard Thirch:
23 years old when he discovered that he is the last in a line of warlocks who's kingdom died 700 years ago, Leonard is understandably reluctant and disbelieving at first of his heritage and destiny. But it isn't long after his grandfather's deathbed confession, that his life changes completely and the normality he had been allowed to lead became a distant dream at the end of a long and winding tunnel. It is his destiny to destroy the warlock Jorad, once and for all.
He is capable as a fighter, thanks mostly to the watchful training of his friend and eventual lover, Annaliesa De Palma. His true skills, however, lie in his innate and usually dormant magical ability, and telepathic powers. It is he who is able to help Anna through her temptations, even in close proximity to the man who causes them, and it is ultimitely this ability that gives him a natural sense of love for the world around him... the world he is destined to keep protecting.
But he isn't perfect and it will take a lot of faith and help from his friends along the way to keep from falling under the tempting thrall and seductive power of his sworn enemy.
Annaliese De Palma (Anna):
Born less then ten years after Dordran, she was once a concubine, and thirteenth wife of Jorad. However, after a long period of enthrallment, during which she was inspired to do terrible and almost unforgivable things to enemies of Jorad, she began to fight her husband's power over her and broke free after he inflicted a savage and merciless beating and rape upon her.
Turning to Jorad's brother Dordran for forgiveness, the young man enlisted her to help put Jorad under a powerful sleep enchantment. This proved troublesome and eventually began a war between Jorad and his minions and Dordran and his.
Jorad was defeated, thanks to Anna's Jorad-learned ability to decieve, which she turned on her former husband and seduced him into giving her the key to his entire defence enchantments. This allowed her to bring Jorad to his knees, and Dordran to place his famed sleep enchantment that kept the evil warlock at bay for 700 years.
Because he knew that the enchantment would not last forever, Dordran gave himself and Anna magically extended life so that when the time came they would be able protect the family line from Jorad's capable and remaining minions and their enthralled offspring and then guide the eventual heir to the fight against Jorad to final victory.
But she discovers that it will be much harder to do then she anticipated when she finds herself falling for Leonard and that this may be the very key that sends her back into the thrall of Jorad.
Jorad:
Not much is known about Jorad except that he is the elder brother of the Warlock, Dordran and that he has a seductive and alluring power that causes many to fall under his heightened telepathic control.
700 years ago he split off from his family and sought to make himself strong, so that he could build a specially designed monument that would allow him to tear apart the fabric of the universe. But the powers he encountered on this journey corrupted him and he learned to enthrall those around him and found that by seducing more and more people, the greater his powers seemed to grow. However the most dear of his minions, his thirteenth wife Annaliese, defected to his brother and from then on he was destined to lose this battle.
He was defeated and a spell placed upon him that threw him into a deep sleep that took 700 years to break out of.
Now, with Dordran dead, he plans to continue his quest for a world under his control, so to finally have the power to create the door that leads to his most treasured possession, one that was stolen from him by the very hands of death itself.
Dordran:
The grandfather of Leonard Thirch (named as an almost anagram of his own father Lethorian), Dordran is both powerful and wise. However, his destructive fued to keep his brother from enthralling the world, lead to his death 700 years after his birth.
After throwing his brother under a powerful sleeping spell, Dordran knew that the day would come when his brother would rise again and he would not be able to defeat him a second time around as the might of the Arturi kingdom would be long dead and he would no longer have the numbers to face his brother in the battlefield. So he used the height of his powers to give himself and the woman responsible for Jorad's first downfall (his thirteenth wife, Annaliese) magically lengthened life so that they would be able to protect the few Arturi secrets that would stand the test of time and be the key to destroying his brother once and for all... as well as protect the heir to this destiny, Dordran's own grandson, born 23 years before Jorad's re-awakening in 2008.
Dordran died of old age on the 5th of October in 2008, due to an unfortunate series of events that saw Annaliese and his grandson Leonard trapped in the year 1920 and the sacrifice of the power giving Dordran eternal life so that they could return to fight Jorad once again.
Hopefully yall liked this.
Anyway it's good to meet yall, and hopefully this will be the first of many fun exchanges
