Christina turns music star (sort of): she's playing the love interest in US actor/singer Cheyenne Jackson's new video, 'Before You'. It's a stylish, quirky nod to The Addams Family and The Munsters; a savvy choice, since Jackson is appearing in the upcoming Munsters reboot, Mockingbird Lane:

Browsing Christina's credits on the National Theatre website (previews of The Magistrate opened yesterday), I noticed they credit her for Silent Witness. A part in the upcoming sixteenth series..?

I love an unexpected Hex connection. In Silent Witness: 'True Love Waits', the
younger version of Christina's character
was played by Nicola Millbank, who played Cassie's lookalike ancestor (named as Ruth in the credits) in the opening episode of season two.
On the episode itself--one of the finest SW instalments ever, right up there with classics like 'Shadows' and 'Bloodlines'. And Christina was fantastic. It's vaguely disconcerting to see her now getting cast as the mother of a teenage daughter, though; it really drives home how long it's been since Hex was on our screens.

News of Christina's latest US TV role: the female lead in the remake of Second Sight. Hopefully it'll prove more of a success for her than Maggie Hill, and the short-lived Chaos: Hex star Christina Cole is heading to CBS. The actress has landed the female lead in the network's Jason Lee drama pilot Second Sight, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Based on the U.K. series by Paula Milne, which stars Clive Owen, the gothic psychological thriller revolves around Ross Tanner (My Name Is Earl's Lee), a detective who is suddenly afflicted with an autoimmune virus that causes hallucinations reflective of his subconscious. He discovers that catching the killer depends as much on insight as eyesight.
Cole will play Gemma, one of Tanner's detectives and love interest. She's pretty with a fierce anger streak who doesn't care for many but has a fondness and loyalty to Tanner, who once saved her career from an Internal Affairs witch hunt. She becomes suspicious when Tanner refuses to drive himself anywhere and becomes the only one who knows of his secret. Source

News of Christina's latest US TV role: the female lead in the remake of Second Sight. In an article posted on 8th March 2103 (before Christina's involvement was announced), the SFX website give their thoughts on the Second Sight pilot; Network: CBS. Starring: Jason Lee (My Name Is Earl), Kim Dickens (Deadwood, Treme). Main creative forces: Paula Milne (original UK series); executive-produced by Carol Mendelsohn (CSI) and Michael Cuesta (Homeland), who co-wrote it with his brother Gerald Cuesta. One-line pitch: Awake meets The Dead Zone. The skinny: Based on the 2000-2001 BBC series starring Clive Owen – which wasn’t half bad – this American update stars Lee as Ross Tanner, a police detective who finds himself having terrible hallucinations and dreams. It turns out that he’s developed a weird auto-immune virus that affects his eyes but, miraculously, helps him solve cases by feeding him clues. Initial thoughts: The UK show was pretty bleak, so it’ll be interesting to see what tone this new version takes – particularly given Lee’s proven gift for humour, as any My Name Is Earl fan will tell you. Our money’s on it playing things desperately straight, however, and possibly suffering as a result. Awake did much the same thing with a similar plot device, and only improved when it lightened up… but by then it was too late to save the show. Interestingly, along with The Originals, this is also set in New Orleans – is the city offering some kind of tax break to film there, or is it just a coincidence, and both shows will be filmed in towns that are only pretending to be The Big Easy? SourceI'm a big fan of the original Second Sight and own the DVD boxset that collects the entire series. It was a cop show with one foot placed tentatively in genre territory, as it was left to the viewer to decide whether the visions that Tanner was experiencing were just a side effect of the condition that was slowly blinding him, or genuinely supernatural in origin (that said, one storyline strongly hinted that there was definitely something paranormal going on). I have serious misgivings about Lee as the lead in the remake, because while I'm not an expert on the man or his career, as far as I'm aware he's only previously tackled comedy roles. Maybe he wants to stretch himself, broaden his range, and prove that he can handle straight roles and serious material. Whatever his reasons, he's clearly convinced the producers of the remake that he's up to the task.
