Hot on the heels of the announcement of Thirteen Steps Down, Laura is part of the cast of another Ruth Rendell drama, this time on Radio 4: the 1970s-set People Don't Do Such Things, which also features Reece Shearsmith and Michael Maloney. It's the Afternoon Drama (2.15pm) next Friday (08/06/12); there's a spoilery synopsis here. There's also an excellent little behind-the-scenes video available, which features interviews with the cast as well as some footage of the recording: www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiTfDOj1b_I

Just like to thank you again for all the sterling work you do, orokiah, in searching the 'net for news of upcoming appearances by former Hex castmembers in various films, TV shows, theatre productions and radio plays. It's truly appreciated. Laura is part of the cast of a Ruth Rendell drama on Radio 4: the 1970s-set People Don't Do Such Things, which also features Reece Shearsmith and Michael Maloney. It's the Afternoon Drama (2.15pm) next Friday (08/06/12). Each Saturday's Daily Mail is accompanied by a magazine supplement called Weekend, which includes the TV and radio listings for the following week. In yesterday's edition of Weekend (02/06/12), the Radio 4 production of People Don't Do Such Things was highlighted as one of next Friday's 'Radio Picks of the Day' with an old Hex promotional photo of Laura in costume as Ella. Ah, the memories that a single image can conjure...

Glad she is up to some new stuff. It's great to see her so busy! And with quality projects too-- People Don't Do Such Things was fantastic. Superbly acted all round, with a real chiller of an ending.

ITV released the press pack for Thirteen Steps Down this week, which this 'independent fansite' has helpfully reproduced. Sadly it doesn't include an interview with Laura: www.thirteenstepsdown.com/Supposedly to be broadcast on ITV1 some time in August. The 13th is surely worth a bet given the title.

Laura Pyper is the reader of The Sacrifice by Brian McGilloway, the first instalment of Maiden City Stories: three short stories commissioned to mark Derry/Londonderry being awarded the inaugural UK City of Culture award. McGilloway is probably best known for his series of novels featuring Inspector Devlin, but his most recent creation is DS Lucy Black--this story is the first time the two of them will meet. It airs on Radio 4 this Friday (08/03/13) at 3.45pm. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01r1337
