grr...I hate lazy teaching. In A Levels it's so importatnt for students to develop independant ideas about the things they're writing on. The examiners get tired of reading the same standardised ideas over and over and over again. (I know I do) I love it when a student shows a bit of spark and ingenuity and tries to apply new thoughts to tried and tested questions.

Well my offer still stands, if ever you want me to take a look at something and give you some feedback, feel free. Which exam board are you doing? OCR?


Jamie, I purposefully don't teach the SHP History of Medicine syllabus becaus I find it dire and deadly boring....and if I do, I'm damn sure the kids do. some of these exam boards need to shake up their syllabi because the Medicine one is the same exam more or less that I sat in 1995!

The medecine is *pretty* boring...My teacher likes to go on long rants and I actually dosed off today, but I had my head in my hand and I kind of went to the side and it hit my head off the wall, thus waking up...I dont think anyone noticed though.

see i jacked mine half way through, got me a job, earned some money and did a home course so i could learn at my own pace and in my own time without the annoyance of teachers!! ( no offence dd)
and i passed with better grade doing home course than i did in college!!

Home study is good for people who can focus. I'm not a big fan of FE anyway, generally pupils in schools and sixth form college do better. FE is rubbish mostly because it's run as a business. Thats not a reflection on the teachers by the way, there are some excellent FE teachers...I'm just a little jaded having worked in an FE college. To many chiefs not enough indians usually.

I've been told my a fellow classmate that it is AQA, but he wasn't 100% sure and I didn't have a clue, they never bothered to tell the girls what board the examinations were with.

(My last wierd conversation) I had a very heated debate about the loch ness monster and whether it existed or not the other day.
I firmly believe it does exist but my friend doesnt, so we were talking about it, which developed into an argument and him saying if what I was saying was true there was a 'Sexually frustrated, immortal, hemaphrodite, vegetarian giant worm living in a lake in Scotland' the funniest thing is he got really angry and het up about it and I was juts laughing. I love winding people like that up...
