Is anyone else disappointed with the extreme lack of halloween programming this year? I don't mean in the build up, I mean today, actually on halloween. Nothing!

Argh I love Hocus Pocus! Disney Channel showed it the other day, Saturday I think. But it is a bit surprising that they aren't showing any halloweeny type films

No one shows the Friday 13th films anymore... I have them all on Dvd but they should at least show them...

I was actually fairly creeped by Blair Witch...I thought it was a definite improvement on all those schlocky Scream type films...which I cant stand, despite the Neve Campbell factor. Blair Witch is really bad for giving you motion sickness though.
I remember when I saw it in the cinema it had a short film before or after about a horsehair chair that used to eat people...was the craziest film I've ever seen, after little Otik (about a tree stump that ate people).

Didn't see the short, have heard of Little Otik though - bizaare!! Blair Witch bored me sooo much, it didn't scare me in the slightest I just wanted to kill myself at the end for wasting those hours of my life! LOL and THEN they make Blair Witch 2!!!

I havent seen the second, I'm just not interested in watching it, I thought it looked pretty pants. I watched Halloween H20 the other night, now THAT was laughable.
I have a copy of little Otik...I can never get over how WEIRD that film is. Its just...crazy. People who wrote all these fairy tales must have been on some amount of those red-and-white-spotted hallucinogenic mushrooms.

I couldnt stand it. Also I hate Josh Hartnett...especially since he started dating Scarlett Johansson ;D.
Thats what you're like throughout the entire film. "Whaaa??". The funniest part is its based on a fairy tale. Czech fairy tales must be pretty messed up. And here was me thinking Little Red Riding Hood was bad.

hehe I used to like him in The Faculty when I was young(er) and impressionable haha!! Imagine reading that to your kids! Moral of the story...don't adopt any tree stumps because they will eat you

Most fairy tales are pretty sick in their original forms, they were ment to be moralizing and off putting. If you want to read a good book on fairy tales, then either of Maria Warner's books, The Beast and the Blone or No Go the Bogey Man are well worth a look.
Fairy tales are pretty horrific if you think about it....Hansel and Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood, the original version of Cinderella which is really bloodthirsty.
I have to admit I was disappointed by the lack of halloweeny stuff tonight. Channel 4 has had a good run of horror documentaries but then it seems to have peaked to early with The Ultimate Scary Movie and just fizzled out.
