Cadoc Point: Cadoc Point is the antepenultimate episode of the seventh Torchwood Big Finish season. Released in January 2022 and written by David Llewellyn. Starring Tom Price as Sgt Andy and guest stars Gareth Armstrong. This is not the first Torchwood Big Finish release to have both Price and Armstrong as they were both in One Rule in 2015 which had Armstrong played Barry Jackson with Price making an uncredited cameo as Andy. In Cadoc Point, Armstrong plays a different character in Merl Williams and unlike One Rule has him properly working with Price as Andy. It is soon revealed that Merl is Andy's old art teacher when Andy was a boy. Merl and Andy hadn't seen each since Andy was Merl's student and Andy wasn't sure that Merl even remembers him, not that unusual as teachers and students in general don't ever see each other again after leaving school. Although Andy was upfront to Merl about their personal history together he did however come to Merl's place with a fake story about a broken car and asked to use his phone because his (Andy) mobile has a dead battery. As revealed by Andy, Merl had been on the news sometime ago as a person of interest in the disappearance of three of his former pupils. Merl ultimately stopped being a person of interest as nothing could be proven. Andy's visit to Merl is about those disappearances and it has something to do with a place called Cadoc Point. Cadoc Point was where Merl as a teacher took his students on field trips. Amusing when it was revealed that Merl is short for Merlin and online Merl got teased on being a wizard which he has taken in good humour. It is not without reason on learning that Merl was an art teacher as the subject of art plays to the core of this episode, how it relates to the said disappearances and how it comes to the fore of the present day at Cadoc Point. Somehow the premise of Cadoc Point was not one I expected presented under the Torchwood banner but ultimately one I came to the grasp and this was quite a haunting story to listen to.

Dead Plates: Dead Plates is the second episode of the eighth Torchwood Big Finish season. Starring Murray Melvin as Bilis Manger Released in June 2022 and written by David Llewellyn. Bilis has been murdered. However just as the people around digest this very fact, Bilis, another one that is, comes in all alive. This story explores the misdeeds committed by the said people. If I were to be brutally honest I could not make any heads or tails with this episode. A second listen of this did not make me any the wiser. I really could not understand the purpose of a Bilis' murder and the ending just had me baffled. Definitely not a Torchwood Big Finish that I have been impressed with.

The Lincolnshire Poacher: The Lincolnshire Poacher is the penultimate episode of the eighth Torchwood Big Finish season. Starring Gareth David-Lloyd as Ianto. Released in November 2022 and written by Stewart Pringle & Lauren Mooney. Greg (David Shaw-Parker) is the said Lincolnshire Poacher and this explores the story from his viewpoint with a limited appearance by Ianto. Quite interesting experience listening to this episode from Greg's perspective and how Ianto comes into this and the meaning of the numbers that are being said. Quite an eerie situation and the person that is The Lincolnshire Poacher.

The Empire Man: The Empire Man is the penultimate episode of the eighth Torchwood Big Finish season. Written by Jonathan Barnes. Curiously despite this being under the Torchwood banner, Torchwood is not here at all as it featured instead its founder Queen Victoria who does however mentioned Torchwood at the end. The Empire Man has Queen Victoria having a meeting with her prime minister and a man called Mr Castringham held just before midnight which would eventually be revealed is of significance. Each of the three tells stories about their personal lives, mysterious events in their lives. One thing all their stories have in common is a place called Altrim Wood. Fascinating with each of those stories and how it leads to what the episode title means. Certainly an enjoyable story in which Torchwood wasn't involved in the situation at hand and we can only wonder how Torchwood would have handled the said situation.

The Last Love Song of Suzie Costello: The Last Love Song of Suzie Costello is the third episode of the ninth Torchwood Big Finish season. As indicated in the episode this stars Indira Varma as Suzie Costello. Written by Rafaella Marcus. This is set sometime before Everything Changes when Suzie was a member of Torchwood and was alive. This has Suzie going into the sea where discovered a spaceship and what she sees there. Quite intriguing by what Suzie uncovers in this spaceship under the sea and the conversations that took place before she ultimately gets back to dry land.

A Postcard from Mr Colchester: A Postcard from Mr Colchester is a special release from September 2022. This has Paul Clayton delivering a one hander as Mr Colchester. It has Mr Colchester recording a message as he gives his assessment on the state of Earth and it is not a very good assessment. This quite a grim little tale delivered by Mr Colchester that is very haunting and creepy from his said assessment of Earth and all the while giving the reminder the purpose of Torchwood. After all that is how the world keeps on going and this is an enjoyable reminder of that

Double Part 1: Double is a two part story that started the ninth Torchwood Big Finish season and written by Guy Adams. This is about Part 1 which was released on January 10 2023. This is set in the 1970s and stars Louise Jameson (Leela elsewhere in the Whoniverse) as Big Finish original character Roberta Craven, an operative of Torchwood One. The reason why this is called Double is because it involves Nestenes and the Autons and Craven investigates the attacks made by them here. Roberta Craven is an embittered person reflected by her persistent consumption of alchohol, all coming out of her experience as an experience and despite being the protagonist of this story I found very hard to sympathise with her. However it was very intriguing when she was given a warning in her investigation one that she wasn't willing to heed to. I don't believe I ever listened to the Autons elsewhere on Big Finish but they definitely worked well here with their legendary sound of their being broken and firing their weapons from there. This included how they played a key part in the cliffhanger.

Launch Date: Launch Date is the fifth episode of the ninth Torchwood Big Finish season. Starring Gareth David-Lloyd as Ianto. Released in April 2023 and written by Aaron Lamont. This mostly centres on Geraint who has a dead end job and a life that he is not happy with. So Geraint asked his friend for help and that friend's name is Ianto Jones. The episode title is therefore a variation on lunch date as Ianto helps Geraint getting a girlfriend called Chrissie with this presented as a rom com style episode. However Ianto has motives to helping Geraint and interesting how biscuits played into proceedings here. It relates to Geraint's job as a cleaner at a place where the word Launch in the episode title is of significance. Quite a fun adventure presented with a rom com premise with Ianto having a limited role here as it presented mostly Geraint and Chrissie as they started dating, albeit dating that was done with manipulation by Ianto.

Sigil: Sigil is the sixth episode of the ninth Torchwood Big Finish season. Starring Murray Melvin as Bilis Manger. Sadly this would proved to be Murray's swansong as Bilis in Torchwood as he died on April 14 2023 and was released on what would have been his 91st birthday on August 10. Written by Ash Darby. The definition of a sigil that I can find is this: "an inscribed or painted symbol considered to have magical power" Sigil tells the story of Sam as in Samantha who been haunted by the said sigil and has drawn patterns of it since she was a child. Then all of sudden due to a chance sighting sees a statue of the sigil at Bilis' shop and hence set in motion events of this episode. It is amusing that Sam called Bilis, Bill, something Bilis does not quite appreciate. Fascinating how things unfolded including what happened to Bilis' shop along the way and leading to the denouement and a certain revelation made about Sam. While no one knew at the time that Sigil would proved to be Melvin's last as Bilis on Torchwood the ending certainly providing an unintentional fitting end for him.

Thirst Trap: Thirst Trap is the fourth episode of the ninth Torchwood Big Finish season. Starring Tom Price as Andy and Kai Owen as Rhys and it was written by the former with this the first Torchwood audio by him. I had to look up what the episode title means which i won't go into here. The premise around this episode is about a dating app one that got Andy a date. As the story progresses it becomes clear that there is something dodgy about this app leading to Andy and Rhys investigating it. Quite an interesting premise of an episode that Price and what purpose the dating app truly served as it is not really about getting two people together and what a denouement that Price both as actor and writer delivered at the end.

Double Part 2: Double is a two part story that started the ninth Torchwood Big Finish season and written by Guy Adams. This is about Part 2 which was released on January 26 2023. Quite intriguing developments that goes on in this the concluding episode of Double. Interesting this presents the question about the difference between the Autons and the Nestene Consciousness. Not bad how this story gets wrapped up and a revelation that certainly came as a surprise to Roberta, The ending of this indicates that this might not be the last we hear of Roberta with Roberta heading her own team in Torchwood and it would be interesting where things go from here with her.

Dog Hop: Dog Hop is the seventh episode of the ninth Torchwood season. Starring Tom Price as Andy Davidson. Released in September 2023 and written by Lauren Mooney and Stewart Pringle. Andy stumbled in a case about the brains of people being said to be implanted in dogs as part of an experiment. This episode completely baffled me and I could not get it to gel with me at all. Basically I could not make heads or tails (perhaps pun unconsciously intended) of this episode and I could not feel any resolution was achieved at all. Listen to it twice but I am not in any of the wiser of a story that felt very frustrating.
