I could never, EVER stick to a diet. If I ever have to, maybe I'll have enough money and I can just try the surgery option

Bless it. You can really tell that someone behind the scenes are working their little socks off to make this show better. Giving all the characters something to do (even...Judy! Shock! Horror! Father Thomas did more than just tell Christina that she has good in her!), and actually developing all of them (sans Paula).
Okay, some of the acting is still a bit sloppy, but things are actually going ahead at a fast pace.
(P.S. Is this in the wrong forum?)

I'm still not convinced at all. I've watched 8 episodes now and I'm still not really caring what happens to people, I'm just watching out of grim curiosity. I think it doesn't help that the girl who plays Christina is SUCH a bad actress, especially in this episode. Furrowing your brow and looking like you're constipated is not the universal acting symbol for evil girl! Lucas Boyd/Grant Show (I nearly put Buck and that would be a faux pas....!) is about the only person acting his socks off in this show. And again, what the hell is Adam Busch's purpose in the programme? Exposition guy?!! LOL Sorry Matthew I'm just not on the bandwagon here....for all it's flaws I still prefer Hex rather than this genre piece by numbers any day...and it's still not even close to kissing American Gothic's boots.

I've been watching this after hex, but i find it sooo incredibally boring, i mean nothing happens apart from her using her powers once every 5 episodes, i thought the first ep was pretty good with the church & that guy & the bee's eeeep, but after that it got annoying. Paula getting all that red stuff all over her in the showers was pretty funny, but i kinda like paula more than christina . I'll still watch it juuuuust to see if anything does happen.

It was cancelled a couple of weeks ago.
Point Pleasant does have some (dare I say it) parts which it betters where Hex fails.
Okay, the cheap stock, bad acting, cluminess in places really hold Point Pleasant down, but you can't argue that it wasn't afraid to give plot lines to supporting characters. So whenever the plot starts to get boring, it can switch to another plotline or characters. Which is one of the few things I felt nagged me about Hex. Which was that it appeared that the programme makers made the pace slow because they had no idea what to do with the supporting characters except make them boring and basic bad teenage stereotypes.

I'll go with that, it's just a shame the point pleasant sub-plots were very soap-opera-ish rather than building the mysterious atmosphere.

It was repeated on Channel 5.
They once showed the first five eps of the first series in one night.

apparently they're not even going to bother showing the remaining episodes of point pleasant now. Well that was that then! Yep, Point Pleasant was yanked from the schedules in America due to low audience figures (common practice over there, where advertising revenues are top priority) and E4 pulled it as well. All thirteen episodes produced are included in the DVD boxset, and I'm curious - did anyone here like the show enough to purchase the boxset, just so they could see how it all turned out?
