Gosh i would stay well clear of ouija boards they are bad bad bad! "because it's bad" isn't too helpful Why are they bad? Have you had some kind of experience with one yourself? ( :/ )

well perhaps she's just like me and has the opinion that if you don't mess around with such things, well then you can't have any problems with it, plus some people might have religious objections to them.

If YOU are of the opinion that you dont mess around with such things, fine, but freedom of choice and all that, and unless she's tried them I dont think its fair to apply her morals to someone else...as for religious beliefs again thats a personal thing and not something you should push onto others. And if she has a better reason it would be good to know why. I hesitated adding this because I dont want to start an argument, but it really is how I feel.

oh gosh sorry i should have given a bit more than saying ouija's are bad.....apologies everyone.
I've not had a bad experience myself and i'm not religious at all so i'm not against them in anyway.... i've heard a few storys of things going a bit crazy when people do them and some things i think are just best left alone.
I'd just say to anyone that does one to be extra careful because you may get more than you bargin for!
But then again more often than not its just a bit of harmless fun.....i'm just a wimp and wouldn't do one myself lol

And if she has a better reason it would be good to know why. I hesitated adding this because I dont want to start an argument, but it really is how I feel. I can see your point, but I don't think anyone has tried to push their opinon on to anyone, in fact pretty much everyone has said do what you want but be careful and make sure what you know what you're doing first. I've never done one but that's because I don't think it's wise to mess with such things. I would never declare myself to be an expert having never done it, but then the argument that you've got to try something before you can have an opinon is a bit of a null point because we could apply that to drugs and smoking and alcohol and so on...for the same reasons. Some people think those things are a bad idea without ever trying them, I and some other people feel the same about messing with oujia and spirits and suchlike. My saying that is not pushing my views on anyone, but simply saying my personal reasons why I wouldn't do it. If I said, don't do ouija boards because they always backfire and you'd be an idiot if you did, THEN I'd be pushing my views on people. Oh and there's never any reason to worry about expressing an opinon, if it's done in a grown up way, well, it's not going to start an argument. Agreeing to disagree is what adults do and is what makes life interesting.

well I don't know about the pillow fights...that all sounds very 1950's girly sleep over to me...lol
I do l like a nice heated debate though and I don't mind people being opinonated if they can support their views and if they can handle people critiqueing them too without taking it personally. I suppose like I said, there are ways and ways about it.

suppose it depends on the type of person you are and if your clued up about the subject your argueing about, because if you got no background on it you will flounder fast and sink

well I'm of the view that everyone has opinons, nothing wrong with airing them, in a sensible way of course. Although I love the disclaimer "no offence but...." at the start of sentences...always amusing because it more or less guarantees that what you're saying is in some way offensive.
