[Fassbender Fan]

"Who are you?" Cassie asked again trying to hide the nervousness in her voice.

"Does it matter..?" He replied placing his hand on the bed, he looked down,

"You can't resist, you know you can't" He looked up, staring Cassie in the eyes.

Cassie shivered, it wasn't cold but his eyes were so intense. She felt helpless looking into them, so much so she broke his stare and got out of bed.

Walking away from him she put on her dressing gown and brushed the hair from her eyes with her hand. She paused and turned to speak but he was already beside her...gently wrapping his arm around her waist he pulled her towards his chest

"Who are yo.." her voice trailed off and she closed her eyes, no longer resisting the dark pull of the night..

[Jimjamz]

The mysterious man gave her a feathery kiss, then pulled away. He grinned at her, before turning and walking back towards the door.

"Thats just the start" He said, turning to look at the shocked girl, "You wont be seeing me for a while, but I'll be back. Remember that"

With that he left, leaving Cassie very confused. Who the hell was he? Why did he kiss her? Why did she let him?

She crossed the room, and sat down on her bed. It was six in the morning, and Cassie could easily have another hour in bed if she wanted to, but she had no desire for sleep. She had no idea where Thelma was, and thought maybe she should go and look for her. She was just getting up when Thelma walked back into the room.

"Thank goodness your back, I was just starting to get wo-" She broke off as Thelma neared her. With a gentle movement she pushed the blonde back onto her bed, and climbed over her.

"What are you doi-" Cassie began, but she was silenced by Thelmas finger on her lips.

"Sssh" She said, leaning down and capturing Cassie's lips in a deep kiss. She kissed back for a moment, before pulling away.

"Thelma, I told you-" She said desperatly.

"You were drunk, you didnt mean it" Thelma whispered, leaning in again...

[Fassbender Fan]

They kissed for several minutes, slowly but passionately Thelma's hands caressed Cassie's legs, her hand creeped upwards..

"Stop it..No" Cassie pushed Thelma onto the bed and stood up

"What are you doing? You know I'm not gay Thelma"

"Then why do you treat me like this? You lead me on ALL the time and just then, you're telling me you weren't into that? Those weren't your lips kissing back??" Thelma's voice trembled and her bottom lip quivered..

"I love you sooo much, don't you get that?"

[Jimjamz]

Thelma stared hard at Cassie, not believing the words that had just came out of her mouth.

"You love me so much?" For the first time Thelma's voice had an angry edge to it. She furiously wiped away the tears that had were beginning to sting her eyes, "You tell me you dont love me. You kiss me. Then you push me away from you. Then you stand there and tell me how much you love me!"

"I dont no where that came from" Cassie muttered, sitting down on the bed next to her friend. Thelma automatically got up, as if she didnt want to be near the blonde. Cassie sighed and put her head in her hands.

"I love you. I love you so much, I just want to be with you all the time. But sometimes I hate you" Thelma seemed to be calming down a bit. "If you dont love me, then why did you just say it?"

"It was better when we were friends" Cassie replied, "Think about it. Maybe one or two people gave us a bit of grief, because they thought something was going on. Then everyone found out something was going on, and I cant walk down a corridor without getting whispers and stares. I cant live like this any more. I want it too end, and theres only one way"

"What are you saying" Thelma said, worry shaking her voice, "Your not thinking about sui-"

"WHAT IF I AM?" Cassie shouted, displaying some of the anger people rarely seen, "MY LIFE HAS BEEN crap, AND YOU NO IT HAS! WHAT HAVE I TO LIVE FOR AT ALL?" Tears began to course down her cheeks, and she collapsed into a sobbing ball on the floor...

[Desultory]

Thelma kneeled down beside her friend, wrapping her arms tightly around her. she then slowly slid herself down to the floor, so her forehead touched lightly upon Cassies.

"Theres something.. something I need to know, Cass," Thelma said, her too sobbing quietly. "If.. if we.. w..were to go away, f..far away from here, where there were no stares or whispers... ww..would things be dif... different? How.. how would y..you feel then?"

"I.. I don't know." Cassie said after what seemed like an eternity of silence to Thelma. "But know this, please : I really do love you, and always have. Always will." And with that, Cassie got up, wiped the tears from her eyes, and stormed out of the room. Thelma ran out, following her onto the stairwell. The blonde ran quickly down the stairs - heading out into the grounds.

"Cassie, please..."

Thelma cautiously followed her friend, once more. She knew where she would be. Out by the edge of the grounds, in their favourite spot - by the lake. She rembered the events that had lead up to their previous confrontation here, hoping things could turn out different this time...

It was just beginning to get light outside. Thelma looked around, and spotted Cassie is the distance, sitting by the lake. She started to run there, hoping Cassie wasnt going to do what Thelma was worried she would. She wasnt too sure about the girls state of mind, giving what she'd just told her. As she neared, she thought she heard a slight splashing sound.
She quickened her pace, and as she turned the corner was relieved to see Cassie sitting by the side of the lake, all in one piece. She was gently running her hand through the water, which explained the splashing sound Thelma had heard. She cautiously walked toward her, not wanting to startle Cassie.

"Hi" Thelma said gently, taking a place next to the blonde. She leaned over and gently kissed her on the cheek. Cassie turned and give her a faint smile.

"This is where it all began" She said, now staring off into the distance.

"It is" Thelma smiled, gently sliding her arm round the slender girls waist. Cassie turned, yet again, to smile at the spiky haired girl.

"And this is where its all going to end" She stood up, leaning over slightly to dust herself off. Thelma got up to, a frightened look on her face.

"W-what do you mean? You just said you loved me. Your not..?"

"Oh, nothing like that" Cassie said airily, "I do love you. But we cant be accepted here, you know that"

"We could move away, I told you that" She pulled Cassie into a tight hug.

"I have an even better solution. It means we'll be together forever" She pulled away, and glanced over at the lake, "In just a few minutes it will be all over. Drownding is a very quick way to die"

Thelma just gaped at her, utterly nonplussed, marvelling how she could say something so crazy in such a matter of fact way. Cassie leaned over and tried to kiss her, but this time Thelma was the one to pull away.

"Cassie, your not talking sense" She took the blonde into her arms, "Come on, Im taking you to Jo"

"No!" Cassie screamed, trying to drag Thelma towards the lake. The girls struggled for a few minutes, before Thelma, having the advantage of more strength, managed to drag Cassie towards the school...

As Thelma was dragging cassie she saw a man in the distance, he seemed to be beckoning cassie into the main hall. Cassie quickly pulled away and ran after him, Thelma followed. Shouting after Cassie.

"Cassie Wait!" Thelma paused to catch her breath, looking up she saw Cassie stood by the man. She frowned, she'd never seen him before and she knew all of Cassie's friends.

Taking a deep breath she jogged toward the couple and quickly grabbed Cassie's wrist. She didn't turn and smile this tima.

"Well well who's this then? Sorry tall dark and handsome but we gotta go, come on.." Thelma tugged Cassie's arm

"You must be Thelma, I'm Azazeal..a friend of Cassie's shall we say" He extended his hand toward Thelma

[Desultory]

His left arm extended further, tugging Thelma towards him, but she only felt the pull of thin air as is whooshed past her sides. The room was empty, apart from Thelma and Cassie, who both stood, shaking. Thelma started to mouth some words to her friend, but was silenced by a warming hug from Cassie. The pair then pulled apart, gazing deeply at each other.

"Now do you understand, Thelma?"

[Fassbender Fan]

"Wha..?" Thelma felt her legs give way and she crumpled to the floor, confused by what had just happened and what it meant.

"I can explain.." Cassie helped Thelma to her feet helping straighten her clothes for her.

"Hey" The girls turned to see Troy and Leon enter the room

"Great its Goldenballs and his girlfriend.." Thelma folded her arms and glared at the pair

Troy walked over to Cassie, gently touching her elbow in a manner Thelma had never seen Troy act before

"Are you ok, I mean the other night in the alley, that guy.." Cassie realised it had been Troy's voice that night, realising she hadn't told Thelma about the attack she stumbled for an answer

"I..umm..yeahh im fine..it was nothing" She shook of his touch and avoided Thelma's stare

[Desultory]

Leon gave Troy a satisfied smirk, and, embarassed, Troy leaned away from Cassie. "Oh well.. I'll leave you two lovers to it then, shall I?" Troy mocked, his character changing completely. The two, described accurately by Thelma as "Goldenballs and his girlfriend", turned their backs on the pair, and wolf-whistled as they exited the dark room.

Thelma gave them a hard glare, which then softened as it returned to Cassies face.

"You.. you never told me what happened that night. An explanation would be a start. I don't know whether I'm coming or going, everything is such a mess... you were about ready to kill yourself half an hour ago... you said it was for me, for us. I believed you. But I'm not so sure now."

[Fassbender Fan]

Thelma slowed.."WHAT is going on?" She asked gently cupping Cassie's hands in her own

"Its a mess Thelma I don't know what to do." Her voice quivered, she looked into her friends eyes knowing how much she had hurt her, her eyes began to water

"Ohh don't cry, whats wrong?tell me please. Cassie please"

Cassie took a deep breath, she looked down at her feet and opened her mouth to speak but stopped.

"Its ok" Jo reassured her, Thelma has told me somethings wrong, you can tell me Cassie..

[Jimjamz]

"I cant tell you" She said automatically, avoiding her teachers worried gaze. Jo knew exactly what Cassie has told Thelma, but she wanted to hear it from the girls own mouth.

"Cassie, this is serious. You were nearly raped. Its stupid enough walking out of the club with the stranger, never mind not even reporting an attempted rape. You were lucky, but what about the next poor girl that isnt?"She leaned forward and took Cassie's hands in her own, who pulled away as though she'd been burnt. She gave Jo an apraising look before turning her head.

"I dont no what your talking about" She said. Jo gave a frustrated sigh, and shuffled forward a bit more. She was worried about Cassie, she had been since her very first month in medenham.

"Cassie, I heard about what happened at the lake. You must be feeling very upset if your considering something extreme like suicide" She glanced over to the door, were Thelma was standing, observing, a worried frown on her face.

"How do you know about that?" Cassie said, looking up.

"It doesnt matter h-"

"Its what I want" The blonde said, her words coming out fast, "I've got nothing to live for, my life has been nothing but crap. Thelma is my only friend in the world, and people cant even except that. Im an outsider. Always have been, always will be."

Jo stood up, and walked round to Cassie. She tryed to embrace the girl, but she roughly shoved her off, stood up and began to walk towards the door. She spotted Thelma.

"Why did you tell her?" Cassie said as she neared the spiky haired girl. Thelma walked forwards and drew Cassie into a tight hug.

"Im so worried about you..." She whispered softly, "They want you to go somewhere, Cass"

"What?" Cassie said, drawing away from Thelma. She turned to look at Jo.

"Where do you want me to go?" She asked her. Jo sighed.

"It's just for a few days, Cassie, just a place were you can get away for a bit, have time to sort yourself out" She tried to smile, but couldnt. Worry darkened Cassie's eyes, which started to dart around the room.

"You mean you want to shove me in some loony bin?"...

[Fassbender Fan]

She broke away from Thelma and walked toward the bookcase at the far end of the room. She paused, her back to both of them

"No. I won't. I can't. I'm not.." She spun round to face them her eyes welling up angry that Thelma had put her in this position.

"You can't make me" she said fiercely looking Jo boldy in the eyes

"You can't"

"Cassie, it's for your own good, we're not trying to hurt you or sen you away, we are just concerned" Jo moved toward Cassie stretching her hand out in a compassionate manner

Cassie threw an evil glance in Thelma's direction but softened when she saw the worry in her friends eyes. Thelma was doing what she thought best, Cassie knes that now. She half smiled, a smile of acceptance.

Thelma took a long deep breath to avoid the tears and took Cassie by the arm

"We are going to get through this. You and Me. I promise you" She squeezed Cassie's arm who in turn rested her head upon her companion's shoulder.

"You won't leave me will you Thelma. I don't want to be alone.."

[Jimjamz]

It had been a week since the lake incident. Cassie had been admitted to a hospital the very same day, for what Jo told Thelma was just a 'chilling out session'. A week was a long time though. Cassie had became even more withdrawn, if that were possible.

Thelma stayed by her friend as much as she could, and, though she'd tried, she wasnt alowed to sleep there. For seven nights Thelma had cried herself to sleep, blaming herself. If only she hadnt forced Cassie into a relationship, it would've been better, wouldnt it? But Cassie did say she loved her, she even wanted to die for her...

"So, wheres lover girl?" Thelma was by her locker, quietly getting her books. She turned round, to see Roxanne smirking at her.

"That is none of your business" She said angrily, glaring hard at Roxanne. Her smirk widened.

"I heard a rumour" She said casually, walking over to Cassie's locker and leaning against it. "Its been going round that the men in white coats took her away"

"What?" Thelma said, slightly panicky. How on earth had the truth got out?

"Are you deaf or something? I heard that Cassie's gone...shall we say, doolally?" She chuckled to herself, clearly enjoying the effect the words were having on Thelma.

"She hasnt" Thelma said, clenching her hands into fists and glaring hard at Roxanne, who only continued to smirk.

"Well, why else would she be gone? Holiday? I hardly think so. She's not exactly got anyone to go on holiday with, apart from you, but it looks like your still here. so were is she?"

"Im not telling you were she is" Thelma said quietly, trying hard to keep her temper under control.

"Then it must be true. Like mother, like daughter. Cassandra Hughes is a nutter."

"Your going the right way for a smack, Roxanne"...
